Was it a standard blade (#11)? No, it was a scalpel blade, and it was probably the wrong blade for the job, but I was feeling too lazy to look for a heavy duty blade. Let that be another lesson; use the right tool for the job.

But, just so you’ll know, this is very far from Tex-Mex. @Chaoswolf and @Cygnwulf help me out here! Biggest issue is the presence of beans in the chili, lol. Texas chili has no beans 🙂 otherwise... this actually looks like something I've eaten before. 19 hours ago, Glitterwolf said: I may be wrong, but I ate this the first time I was in Arizona ( Tucson) given the Chilibeans/guacamole etc, I figured it was somewhat Tex Mex inspired? Tex-Mex is an oddly specific cusine. you're not wrong in that it looks very American Southwest though. Biggest thing I'm seeing that says 'not tex mex' is actually bread instead of a tortilla. Real mexican will bring levened breads back in, but texmex seems to think that the tortilla is the only bread. Tex mex is one of those cusines tha is pretty much all tortillas (usually corn), jalapenos, steak, chicken breast, ground beef or stewed chicken seasoned with copious amounts of red chili powder, garlic, onion, and cumin, pinto or black beans (refried, meaning mashed, or charro/borracho, which is thin and soupy), seasoned rice (see previous seasoning blend), and cheese (cheddar, monterray jack, and more recently cohita, quesadilla, or ouxaca are also acceptable). Black olives, diced tomatoes, cilantro, onion, jalapeno, sour cream or crema fresca, and avocado frequently feature as toppings, frequently mixed in various amounts into various salsas and guacamoles. Start getting more foody with it and you start getting general 'southwest' unless it's more specifically a local flavor, such as the specific use of Hatch chilis, pinon nuts, and blue corn that are iconic of santa fe cooking, or the more creative cali-mex which is typically much less fried and typically includes a whole farmer's market of other fresh vegetables. Interestingly enough, true mexican cooking typically takes a lot of these ingredients and cooks them in a way that is ironically more reminiscent of southern homestyle. Since most of my online or social media sites have gaming in them, this is all that that I'm seeing in them right now. I guess it's a good time to wean myself off of them for awhile? yeah, seems like every news site out there that even remotely covers gaming is having to be sure they put their oar in on this debate at least once every 12-24 hours so they can get the clicks, even if there's nothing new to report.... 4

haldir
Speaking of food, put something in the microwave & entered 40:00 on the timer, changed it to the correct time of 4:00, but it got me thinking what on earth would you put in the microwave for 40 minutes & would the microwave oven survive that journey? Also, if some of the my edition/liscense wars seems like I'm on WoTC's side, I'm not. I'm a fan of D&D, I am also a fan of 3PP works as well. (hell my favorite adventure writer right now is 3PP!!). I just hate seeing that "hey look it's social media or it's online, we can protest/debate the hell out of something till it's ingrained into everyone skull!!!" That & this came in a email this morning: It's from Teefury (t-shirt company). 9

In nutritional news, I ate nearly everything I had for the day from my lunch box. Have a small bad of Doritos to tide me over when the afternoon hits. So since I am still wanting something just after lunch, I hit up the vending machine. See chicken ramen but it’s vegetarian and just chicken flavored. There a standard shrimp cup ramen (starving student staple) but not really into shrimp today. So I will get the beef ramen. And once I pry it out from the vending machine’s theft prevention door, that’s when I noticed that it too is vegetarian and only beef flavored. At this point, no choice. I bought it. Little bland and not what I was craving.
