I have done really well this month. I think it was a combination of having to finish the secret Sophie and having just two minis left in the annual box. It became like a sprint to the finish line. But as things stand I just have to paint one terrain piece before the end of the month/year.

Haven't really set any goals the last couple of months but I'm always working on something. Mostly been on the computer and 3D printer but have painted a little bit. Designed a 1/285 scale Soviet T-26 and 3 variants in Blender, printed a mini holder/painting handle, 3D printed pieces for Fireball Island board game and just need to print off some replacement cards for it. Hoping to keep plugging away on a few more things until New Years.

My goal is to finish Secret Sophie early.  After that I have some mostly painted D&L terrain that needs its finishing touches and sealing.

I will be out of town the rest of the month, so no more painting for me.  I got Secret Sophie done a couple of weeks ago.  I never got back to that particular D&L terrain, but I painted some other terrain instead so it wasn't a complete bust.

December Goal (not necessarily in this order):

  • Finish the Genestealers I've started.
  • Paint/Repaint some plaster Nutcracker figurines that Mrs. Strawhat purchased last year.
  • Finish Strawbonnet's ornament gifts so they can be sent in time for the holidays.

As the great Meat Loaf once said, "two out three ain't bad."

I did paint The Nutcracker figurines.  I would have liked to have spent more time on them, but painting over what had been done and revising things as I went just ate up too much time.  They're not horrible, and Mrs. Strawhat seems pleased.  I'm calling it a win.

Strawbonnet #1's (and even Strawbonnet #2's) gifts to the great-grandparents (and a couple aunts and uncles) were all done in time.  Mrs. Strawhat mailed them late, but it's been a rough few months.

The Genestealers have, once again, been forced out of the list.  Unexpected drama from the youngest and far too much dog sitting took their respective tolls.  I'll take another tilt at that windmill in January.

Did much better this month!

Got 2 minis finished and made decent progress on another two, then got bogged down assembling stuff to work on in the new year (I spent a whole evening trying to figure out how 3 pieces attached to a Malifaux lady).

Hopefully I can keep doing at least a little bit of hobbying most days.

I did really great in December, finished the following:

Bones 5 Townsperson  B5-218

Bones 5 Townsperson  B5-212

Troglodytes (3) Spearman, Boss, Warrior  44046

Bones 5 Townsperson  B5-226

Cultist  77517

Cultist  77518

Nightmare  WZK90087

Bone Naga  WZK90086

This took me up to 51 medium minis equivalents for the year, so I also successfully completed the 2022 year goal of 50.

Got a WW2 videogame earlier in December and as often happens that got me working on my Blitzkrieg Commander minis again. Haven't played any tabletop games since last spring but always adding to the collection. The last couple of weeks saw me 3D printing more stuff for Christmas, a few requests from the kids and some odds and ends for myself. At the last minute I decided to finish off my late war Soviets before getting too carried away with printing more minis for early war armies. Because they're 1/285 scale they paint pretty fast so I painted almost everything I had printed. Figured out that I was short a few platoons of various things so they are printing right now. And now I'm doing research on early war units and finding or making stls for the early war. Nearly have everything I'd need print to gathered. On top of that I also painted a couple mechs and Sisters of Sigmus minis. EVerybody has been kind of sick over the holidays so left lots of time to hobby.
