Two Years Worth of Medium-Sized Miniatures (Part 1)

I've done so much painting in the last couple of years and I'm always too lazy to take pictures. Finally got around to it.... All Reaper Paints, all the time.

 

For some reason I just love miniatures wearing packs. Awesome Snail from Monkstone Miniatures

 

Copied this paint scheme from Kangaroorex (brilliant idea, sandy looking from the top, sky looking from the bottom).  This is the Western Desert Dragon (03670) from Reaper. It looks like this is an old model and there were some problems with the mold. I had to cut the base apart to get it to lie flattish and the wings didn't fit quite right. Still a very cool model.

I'm really happy with how the shell turned out on this super creepy snail rider from Whilhelm Miniatures.

 

Very cool miniature from Red Bard Games. I was really happy with the wheel tracks I made with green stuff, but I'm a little disappointed with the grass. I was aiming for patches of dead grass in the road, but I think I ended up with too much contrast between the grass colors. Next time I plan to mix the static grass to get more realistic variations.

My favorites are the beholder things - they're like a reptilain version,  and the snail with a pack - love it's face and pink against grey

A little tip about that grass on the base for the merchant cart.

if you're not satisfied, a little drop of ink with the right colour can you can dye those tufts in a colour you like more.

First off, these are all super-cool designs. You've definitely got great taste when making miniature purchases. 😉

 

All of these paint jobs look amazing. I really like the blending on that snail's face. Great job on the shell, too. It looks like it could be a character from the Dark Crystal.

 

I love the bright, vibrant colors on those demon toads (contrasted against the dry/boney coloration of the horns). 

 

I agree...the shell on the snail & rider turned out nicely ( as well as the snail's overall body and teeth). This is what that snail rider guy in the Neverending Story would have looked like if it had been directed by Tim Burton or Guillermo del Toro.

 

Those virus-themed beholders are creepy af. I'm especially liking those teeth.

 

Great work on the others, as well.
