Welcome to the forum!

Take some time to look around, and if you have any questions, please don't be afraid to ask! Everyone here is very friendly, knowledgeable, and quite willing to try to help out.

First bit of advice: never, ever, no matter what, repaint that figure. If you want to, buy another one. A year from now, you can go back and compare your current level of painting to the one you started with and see how you've improved.

Also, the most important thing you can learn about the hobby: if you're having fun, you're doing it right.

You did a very good job on that figure, nice work. I'm looking forward to seeing your next one. ::):

Welcome to the forum!

Well done, better than my first minis!

As for taking pics, a neutral background will help, glass/alufoil etc will reflect and things in the background will distract.

A simple piece of cloth or paper in a neutral colour will help a lot with taking nice pics.

If you encounter purple text on this forum, it's meant to be a joke/ironic and not to be taken seriously.

Look around, ask and HAVE FUN!

Welcome! Great job on your first mini. I'm glad to see you're already putting your own spin on things ( i.e., the eyes). That kind of thing is how we grow. From the looks of things, you've already got really nice brush control. I agree with Chaoswolf - never repaint this particular mini. It's important to remember the point from which we all start. Looking forward to seeing more.

Yea, that's why I placed that one in a special case.  I have come quite a ways in a month and a half.  Painted about 50,  minis now,  LOTs of goblins and skeletons, mummies and more.

Started off small, basically all the little 3 packs or 5/6 pack reaper bones stuff.  I figured work on the smaller ones to start, then move up to some bigger stuff once I get the basics down.

I kind of went over the top, as I tend to, whenever I find something I enjoy, and purchased a LOT of mini's.  I track them in a spread sheet so I know what I have already purchased, vs what is still on my wish list.   I track all my paints as well... kind of went paint crazy as well.   Can you blame a man in his 50's for having a little fun....  ?
