I love what you did with removing him so that he can actually be used on the table for battle. I’ve yet to paint this figure bc of the absurdity of navigating an entire throne around in combat. It would be simultaneously funny, but also immersion-breaking. Having the ability to take him on/off is a great idea!

Oh man, now I'm imagining that entire throne being moved around in combat! 😆

I figured this would make it a lot more practical and useable. Now I can use the throne by itself as a terrain piece for the throne room of either Dragoth or someone else, and I can have Dragoth sitting other places as well. 😉
Would love to see a standing version of this version of Dragoth, though. That would've been cool. Though I guess I'll just have to find some proxy. 😄

My other thought had been to just find a figure in my enormous undead arsenal who is ‘close enough’ and then paint them to match so that I have a standing version and a throne version. I guess piloting him around the battlefield in a seated position would be equally hilarious!

I think he's always been separate from his throne, even when he was just metal. The metal version gives you 3 options for his head & a female helmet holder vs the Bones skull head guy & throne. I think there is just a separate figure as well.

Great work on the entire piece. I like that sword blade, I'll have to remember that if I ever want to replicate a blade like that. I also like the lettering at the base of his throne, kinda gives off a glowing vibe when you compare it to the dark backgrounds,

Nevermind, it's a earlier sculpt with the same name:

Sitting down is a free action. 😆

Yeah, I think that's what I'll do as well. Maybe do a little bit of sculpting for the unique shoulder pads. 😉

I don’t mean to come off as a snob, but that metal sculpt is no-where near as awesome as the stuff in their catalogue over the past few years.

Dragoth seems to be a character they've resculpted a couple of times. And yeah, I wish the Bones version also came with the extra head options! 😉

The blade was just something I tried out and hoped would work, and it did. So I'm happy with that. Will probably do it again. 😉 The copper runes against dark gray is something I've started doing a bit more lately. I've used it before, but then I saw Galladoria Games use it for some of their prepainted stuff(specifically the statues in their latest KS), and it just adds a lot of character to the otherwise gray rock. 😄

It's definitely a very old school style sculpt. 😉

But there's also a metal version of the same sculpt. 😄

Yah that is a 2000 listing  (2367 to be exact) of metal Dark Heaven Legends line, so yah the sculpting has gotten better over the years. I think that figure may have existed even before the forums came into existence. ha ha

For one Dragoth on big throne is 3807, so yah lots of figures done up & not even digital yet either. Also the 2367 Dragoth is done by Bob Olley, where the big throne is done by Bob Ridolfi. Some of Bob O's stuff can be bit hard to take in, but overall thou he is a great sculptor.

What I've always thought was funny was you can't really use the helmet bearer & his helmet head together in the same scene....ummmm his back-up helm?
