Hello you cross pollinations of Reaper Lovers and Star Wars addicts!

So my wife is not a big fan of miniatures, but she does happen to like baby Yoda quite a lot, so when this came out, I knew I had to get it and paint him for her.  When I pre-ordered it, I didn't realize it was going to be so small, he's really petite.

I'm guessing maybe about 18-20 mm in height, it was also really nice because he's such a simple figure, it only took maybe four hours to paint.  No weapons, pouches or Dingly Danglies, was very simple and the eyes were large enough to work nicely with them as well.

I did his little jacket a little darker than it shows up in the show because I wanted some contrast between his cuffs and fluffy lamb skin fur about his head.  So anyhow, a slightly belated merry Christmas to you all again!

Adorable. Nice work bringing out the little eyes. Fur looks good, too.

Thanks R2ED!

Nice, you nailed the leather!

Thank you Count Ulrik, a little darker than in the show but wanted some contrast.

100% agreed...it's an interesting take and it works well.

My favorite part is the ears. Whenever someone nails the right level of pinkishneas in Yoda/baby Yoda ears, it always sells that effect of having light shining through the cartilage. I think you've definitely pulled it off, here.

Good work on the little fella!

So, what did your wife think?

She actually like it quite a lot and said she’d put it in a little case, so stopped by Hobby Lobby and got her a little “golf ball” case to display him in6DEF19A6-E560-4F5B-A548-E2026BA46655.thumb.jpeg.3436d325dab47271eb24bbf9c03b9b83.jpeg

as you can tell by this photo, he’s puny!

Thanks Grand Slam, didn’t want it to be too pink so did him all in his green and then applied some rosy skin and highlighted and shaded from there.
