Transparent grids

Can anyone recommend some transparent grids that could be used over a neoprene mat to make it usable for DnD? Ideally they would allow as much visibility to the underlying mat as possible. Not sure, but maybe highly matte finish would be best?

I’ve seen the Dwarven Forge overlays, so if anyone has experience with them it would be great to hear.

Thanks!

What comes to mind right now is get some clear overlays (like for a overhead projector) & then print off a square grid on to those using a professional printing service or if your home printer is up to printing on clear plastic, go for it there. If you go with professional, they generally have plastic sheet stock.

I did this with some webbing that I found on the web (pun intended) a few years ago. Each square is in various sizes so I can lay down the webbing titles onto existing tiles to create webbed areas.

Also, I think you'll only find glossy finishes as that helps dry/wet erase makers write better. I'm probably wrong on that, but I haven't seen many matte dry or wet erase surfaces,

CZYK is seller on amazon that has some clear tiles now that I remember. I've gotten a few items from them & I've liked what I got. Most notably for me is a circle spell template.

C4Labs is anther on amazon.

Big cheap poster frames from places like Walmart with lines drawn or painted on is what people used to use.

My home game I just use a Chessex map underneath one of those.  It works well.
