Darius the Wizard 30002, Krass Omenthrall, Evil Warrior

A couple of quick paint jobs done to get these guys ready for the table.  The wizard may have been a Reapercon speed paint re-paint. 

 

 

They way they ended up posed facing each other makes me think they're saying "Have a good weekend, see ya back in the dungeon on Monday."

I was thinking they reminded me of something, but I didn't know what until I read that. Then it came to me: Wily Coyote and Sam the sheepdog clocking into/out of work together in the old cartoons.

Nice classic paint scheme on Darius...and well-executed. The beard, in particular, is quite realistic.

 

I'm loving your approach to Krass Omenthrall, too. The horns have a lot of realism to them and I really admire the effect on the sword. Was he fun to paint? I've been looking forward to tackling him, myself.

I don't really enjoy characters like that.  I think he'd be stunning in the hands of a talented painter who could do all the details on the armor, but I'm not good with NMM.  I did traditional metallics drybrushed on.  Tried to go for a dark and slightly dirty look, without making him so dark you couldn't see anything.  Gave him some brown leather with hints of red, his cloak is also reddish, just so he'd stand out on the table.  I did put some effort into the horns, I'm trying to improve my subtle blending.

Great quickpaints - I couldn;t do better even non-quick! They have a lot of personality!
