77719 Eyes are the gateway to the chibi

So my daughter wanted me to paint another one of these chibi characters.  I find they make good practice.  Honestly, the eyes are what makes these models worth it.  Like most, I struggle with eyes, but these huge character heads are perfect fodder. 

 

Pretty happy with the results. Open to any feedback or improvements.

I have zero criticism of her eyes, they look awesome to me.   FWIW, I’m planning on trying to make a reflection that extends past the iris/pupil and into the sclera on my next larger scale model.

Yeah...something like this is definitely the perfect place to practice eyes. You've done a lovely job on them, too. The dark rim around the iris is a great touch. If you ever want to take it a step further, I've noticed that blue eyes often have little flecks of tan/brown in them (mine do, anyway). That might be another way to give big ol' chibi eyes even more life.

 

I dig the highlights on the skin and blade, too. Great work.
