New Dollar Store Spaceships Spotted

On a recent trip to my local Dollar Tree I came across something new. As the Starlink "ships" have finally started to dwindle from their shelves a new batch of ships have arrived.

 

Honestly straight out of the box they could easily hit a table. I'm debating if I'll repaint them at all or simply leave them as is.

 

As Sir Forscale shows they're too small beside 25-28mm scale figures but would be perfect for 15mm or less. Then again if you're just using them for space battles size becomes a different conversation altogether.

 

Since first coming across these I've found piles of them in multiple locations. Your mileage with your local shops may vary but I didn't see anyone talking about these so I wanted to get the word out.

Dollar stores are great places to find stuff. I wish these were a little bigger for Stargrave, though.

Walmart has bigger versions, I think of all 3 designs.

I was, in fact, a little peeved that I had purchased 2 of the purple ones at Walmart in Dec for full price.

But now I have 4 of them.

Saw these the other day I was in ours. The only ones I didn't see were the ones you haven't posted (back of the cards). I'm curious if those never made it to the Dollar store rounds.

Same here actually, those three are the only ones I've found so far. Maybe the others sold better at "real" stores before the remainder wound up in the dollar stores.

I think they might serve well as unmanned ships--remote piloted drones or AI piloted.

I'm painting a couple of the XL-01's for my CAV Templar force.  They're just about the same size as several of the CAV flyers, like the Ghast or the Lynx.

Some of the bigger vehicles were on sale at significant discount at the grocery store around New years.

 The larger (1.25" minis?) scale toys are not quite 28mm - or, rather, they're 28mm scale in the way that a lot of terrain is - not actually large enough, but close enough for most purposes (and something actually large enough would be too big for the gaming able in many cases). I've got a number of them I just ordered that arrived, I'll take some pictures with some minis when I get home tonight.

As promised - comparison pics!
the minis are a mix of Reaper, GW, and an Imperial Attack Thrawn, because, what the hell (and it was what I had quickly to hand. The Least to Most order for close-to-on-scale likely runs something like XL-03, XL-02, XL-15, XL-01, XL-12, then the XL-07, which is pretty close just because of it's beefy structure.

The bigger ships do look much better. I haven't seen any of the larger ships in my local stores but I'll keep my eyes open.

Yes, that is Bregan, Valkyrie Human Paladin #77489 in Bones and #03810 in Metal.
