Hag (Path Miniatures / MZ4250)

Recommended Posts

For whatever reason, I recently felt like painting this lovely lady up (her color scheme was somewhat inspired by the monster manual sea hag art). These bulk models are usually pretty light on sculpted details, but this gal had almost NO definition (her arms, especially, were like Muppet limbs). I took it as an opportunity to practice creating definition solely with paint effects. I think it worked out fairly well in the upper body...I'm definitely not as happy with the legs. But, I've got three more copies of this model. I'm sure I'll take another crack at her at some point.

Great colour choices to produce something genuinely creepy from a model where the creator was phoning it in. A group of four in a dark cave would be disturbing ( imagine them standing on the ceiling or walls as well)

Most likely this was some of Miguel's first works as a 3d sculptor. He has updated past works, probably didn't get to this one or at least the reseller printed a a older file.

Considering Miguel does all of these for free, I'd say it a pretty good job & @Grand Slam's paintwork brought out the figure. Love the face, has that creepy look I'd see in a Sea Hag (considering their 5e power).

Didn't recognise it as one of his tbh - I was assuming ( I know) it was from a boardgame or such but it is his original Sea Hag and I don't think it is updated. So  I agree very good for free 🙂 I have his updated Incubus on my desk atm and it is amazing - clean lines and loads of character.

She’s reminiscent of Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas…

Ha! You're right. Now I'm kind of wishing I'd given her red hair 🙂

Thanks guys. By the way, it looks like MZ4250 has done an updated version (which has a lot more detail).

Maybe she’s Sally’s sister!
