I know Derek Schubert had high contract early in his painting career, then he learned to blend and started winning all the awards. Grand Slam Posted January 16 Share Posted January 16 Nice job on those snakes! Also, the red dress and green snakes complement each other nicely. I dig her skin tone, as well. Yeah, increasing contrast can be tricky. I know I fall into the trap of always feeling like I'm going "too far' with my highlighting. Then, the minis that I go "too far" with on the highlighting always come out looking the best. I'd suggest getting into the habit of taking your highlights one step further than your comfortable with.
