Mick hopes the guards didn't hear the whisper and as he doesn't want to give them any such ideas about doing things like that, the Captain ignores Hawk's question.

[[[ OOC Mick is wearing his sidearm in plain sight btw ]]].

The thin guard smirks a little upon hearing the whisper from Hawk. The rotund one doesn’t seem to be paying attention, instead, he is looking lecherously at Rebecca.

“You can go on in,” The thin man says, “You’ve been expected.” And with one hand he pulls open the curtain.

Dismounting the Mule, Darryl looks at Hawk and says quietly, “I’m not paid to think.”

As you file in, you can see why they weren’t concerned with searching you. There are additional guards inside the stall, maybe half a dozen, all similarly armed.

It takes a moment for your eyes to adjust to the transition from the bright sun outside to the subdued lighting with in the stall.

The humble exterior of the stall belies the opulence of the interior. A pair of oscillating fans moved the air and provided some relief from the humidity. A large Persian rug covered the floor, in the middle of the room, a low table sat, surrounded by oversized pillows. In the center of the table sat a bowl of fresh fruit; oranges, tangerines, and mangos.

A woman sat at the table, on the your left. She was dark and thin, too thin to be healthy. The dark dress she wore clung to her, fitting poorly. As she makes furtive eye contact with you, you see her eyes are sunken, bloodshot, and wired.

On the right of the table, standing rather then sitting, is a stocky young man, probably no older then 22 or 23. He’s dressed in black, with a pistol slung low on his left hip in a cross-draw; a black hard-sided case stands at his feet. He has short, close cut light hair and large jagged scar on his face. His posture practically screams military training.

In the middle of it all, sitting in a rattan chair and sucking on a hookah on his right, is a short, balding man with a pale complexion. This is made paler by the white, high collared suit that he wears. He removes his mouth from the hookah and blows a puff of smoke in your general direction. “Nice of you to join us, Captain Gannin. Please, come in and have some fruit.” He says with a high nasally voice, motioning towards the bowl on the table.

"Thank you, Businessman Xiao. Most kind." responds Cap'n Mick, taking off his hat and sitting down on one of the pillows directly opposite the man. As he sits he puts his hat on his right knee, but he purposely does not take any of the fruit, instead he looks about the room with an appreciative expression on his face.

"I can see that your reputation is well deserved." Mick says, looking back at his host. "My compliments. What can the Molly McGee do to help increase your success?"

Hawk walks in Apprehensivly and follows Mick and Stands beside Mick.

Hawk looks at the table to the Left and sits down by the Woman.

Hawk looks in his pockets to find another pack of gum, but to his dismay he left it on the ship.

“It’s funny you should mention reputation,” Xiao says. He snaps his fingers twice and the woman immediately hands him an orange from the table. Xiao looks at Hawk for a moment, and crooks an eyebrow. Then as he peels the orange, he continues.

“The reputation of you and your crew precedes you. You come very highly recommended. Captain Watanbe of the Javert speaks highly of you; as does Hoss Lang of the Heilongjiang. Patience doesn’t have a bad thing to say about you, and that hoe-tze duh pee-goo, has a bad thing to say about everyone.” He pops a section of the orange into his mouth, and continues with his mouth full, a little bit of juice dribbling down his chin. “They all say you’re reliable and discreet. These are two attributes that I’m currently looking...” He stops to spit out a seed onto the rug. "for."

"We aim to please." said Mick in reply. "'"Do unto others" is good for business' I always say. When we're treated honest and fairly, then it's good business for us to be as reliable as we can. So... what does our gracious host, Businessman Xiao, have that is in need of our reliable discretion?"

Rebecca continues to stand near the entrance, acting as a guard in case things go wrong. She listens carefully to the discussion between the captain and Xiao, waiting to hear the details of what the job will involve.

Hawk is still searching for his gum (still thinking he put it in one of his pockets).

Actually, moving around like this makes Hawk look really Suspicious.

He looks up to the Woman and says "Sorry, just looking for my gum"

Then he starts to listen to the Conversation. He looks rather bored listening to the conversation but as he always does he gets through it (how else is he going to get paid) He rather be on the ship doing someting exciting.

Hawk "Tries" to look Interested in what the Xiao says.

Xiao smiles, his teeth are yellowed and unclean. "I represent a man named Samuel Wingo, owner of the Cross-n-Circle Ranch on Pendergast." Xiao pauses to see if the name sparks any recognition, when it doesn't he continues.

"Mr. Wingo has a shipment of his property awaiting pick up on Yellow Dog. This gentleman," with his thumb he indicates the man clad in black, "is Sean Mercer. His job is to inspect the cargo, and then to make sure it's delivered safely to the Cross-n-Circle Ranch. Your job is to simply fetch and carry; you should be more then up to the task. Interested?"

Hawk finds his gum in the hip pocket of his pants, its thuroughly smushed.

"You should try the mangos." The woman suddenly says to him in a stage whisper. "They taste like the color blue."

"I suspect we can do some business." says Mick as he looks at Mercer, slowly eyeing him up and down. He didn't like the idea of a watchdog, but that could be dealt with one way or another. He averted his eyes back to Xiao....

"Shall we discuss the payment options?" he says with a wry smile.

Sean upon hearing his name mentioned tips his hat to the captian.

He then returns the stares of the captian with a big grin, the kind the cheshire cat would have been proud of.
