I think I have settled.
ill get the Novice set, add the elf forest & encounter props legacy expansions.
then ill re-sell the base set, and keep the PDFs and stretch goals.

I am intrigued by the source books,  but like other I don't really need 99 minis that I have to assemble.
I will miss out on not having a few figures that look cool from the base set, but the unopened box will be easier to sell.

The super  goals are alot more appealing than the  base stretch goals - but not enough to jump up my pledge.

The "Mimic Dragon" isn't really doing it for me, personally. But at least I really hope the half corpse it's holding is completely optional. The newly revealed stretch goals are also not as interesting to me. Just looks like some minis they couldn't fit into the regular sets, but since they'd already sculpted them, they may as well use them. (

Agreed. Mimic Dragon might pass for a demon thing if painted differently. Also looks like DeusLair (LOAD) sculpts are in the SG's when they said SG's were to be a D&D theme.

I guess with the sourcebook being 5e, you could only assemble and paint the mini's you wanted for an encounter, or play "theatre of the mind"? 😕 Still, with the emphasis on factions, they could have gone the miniatures skirmish game route, and packaged each set as a different faction, and put neutrals into the SG's or something. While Archon isn't known for their rulesets (they even plagiarized Rum and Bones for their LOAD game) Archon could have paired up with a skirmish games ruleset, like Song of Blades and Heroes.

Anyway, "One last thing, Lord Bulbolder will now be available to previous backers of ALL of our campaigns, not just D&L Backers. If you’re here from HoMM or MOTU: Fields of Eternia, then we’ll do our best to accommodate you 😀"

Also, the "Three kobolds in a trenchcoat" mini has been unlocked!

Last few hours for that owlbear!

Alright, got a temporary pledge in place for that owlbear and twelve more days of stretch goals to convince me not to hit the cancel pledge button.

For anybody on the fence, please don't construe this as a recommendation to avoid the campaign.  I've backed them three times before already and each and every time I've been blown away by the quality and speed.

Yep, I'm in the exact same position. Not sure I need any of their monster minis, but as a previous backer, I'll back for 1 Euro for now and see what it looks like near the end.

For some reason I see it as a kind of Unseelie Fey Court campaign.
Between Core Set + Of Sea and Thunder Add-On and stretch goals there is plenty of miniatures that give me that type of vibe. Also seems like the planned campaign also points in that direction.
It is probably these two at the moment and the whole Redoe Alliance faction that keep my mind really excited about the project:

I think I'm in for this now. If nothing else, it looks like great value.

I'm a bit worried because this will be my first "assembly required" minis. But I assume it'll be fine. I have clippers and craft knives.

The hard plastic is easy to work with, certainly better than pre-assembled boardgame plastic. I'd also get some files -- I actually use a big industrial diamond file, but the usual recommendation is sanding sticks.

Unlike many multipiece kits, each piece is labelled on the sprue, so you know how they fit together. Personally, I brush-prime the pieces on the sprue with colored airbrush primers, but you don't have to. Then cut out only the pieces you need to assemble. I'm on the side where you cut off some of the sprue attachment when cutting the piece off the sprue, then removing the excess plastic from the piece. EDIT: You may wish to brush-prime, basecoat, and wash the pieces before assembly. For assembly, I find Tamiya Thin Clear Cements to be the easiest to use. You can use Vallejo Plastic putty, wood glue, greenstuff (epoxy), superglue with baking soda, etc. to fill gaps, although the pieces may be good fits.

EDIT: If you don't already do so, get an electronic toothbrush! 😄 You can use the used heads to brush away plastic "dust" from the miniature after filing down the excess plastic.

In Archon's downloads, you can find the Deuslair Sample Pack manual to get an idea of how the pieces fit. I'm assembling and painting the Rasher's Golem, myself. 😄

For the moment I’m in for apprentice. Mainly for the SuperStretchgoals. Will probably sell off the CoreSet. For now there’s roughly half the minis in most add-ons and the stretchgoals I‘d put in the work to assemble and paint. But if the ratio drops further (not too fond of Roblin on rat or the current SGs) I‘ll probably quit this KS and rather spend another $150 on the Bones PM.

Putting together the sampler miniatures sent with the D&L4 pledge. So far my impression is Archon plastic is MUCH easier to work with than softer plastics, particularly boardgames. Fewer moldlines, moldlines and sprue attachment points easier to file or scrape off. Since it's not pre-assembled, you don't have to put up with cutting moldlines or try to paint inaccessible areas. Because the base is not integrated to the miniature, you can paint from underneath the miniature. Assembling multipiece is usually a pain for mini's, but Archon's pieces actually fit together well (except for one or two of their mini's) which is unfortunately rare among sprue-based and non-plastic mini's. Multiple pieces also means I'm painting one piece while waiting waiting for another piece to dry, speeding up the painting (at least up to basecoat) process.

Anyway, weapon sprues were popular back in one of the Bones campaigns, and Archon is starting to add them to the SG's. The ranged weapon sprue has also been unlocked. I don't convert miniatures, but find weapons useful as background furniture, or to stick on a mini with Museum Wax to indicate a weapon they own.

Tim from the D&L fans page:

The Day 7 daily drop is a Super SG! The Wolf Drake!

Good morning all! After a slow weekend, Archon has spiced things up with some changes.

First, it looks like they lowered a few of the SG gaps, specifically the Sculpter of Darkness is now 820k (was 870) and Augmented Demon 840k (was 900k).!

Next, the daily drop looks pretty amazing, and they have revealed the 860k SG, which is to be Tidor, the Dwarf Champion...on a bear mount yet!

We are at almost 812k (Euros) and 4,636 Backers which means:

* we just got a really amazing mad goblin daily drop on a 50mm base!

* we are only 8k from the next SG (Sculpter of Darkness)

* we are only 364 Backers from capturing the Community SG of Roblin at 6k Backers.

* we have one more normal SG at 840k before hitting the next Super SG at 850k.

* and, we have a really amazing "normal" SG at 860k... I mean, who the heck doesn't want a dwarf on a bear mount???

I guess for a Monday, this one is a looking to be a pretty awesome one . Cheer

EDIT: Added Accessories pack to previous post!

Anyway, the dragon cat from Bones was popular, so here's another dragon hybrid... also a goblin wartank for the *regular* SG's!

Although I think Bones beat 'em to the dwarf riding a bear...
