Outstanding paint job! Love the close ups; I'm going to try and use them as reference when doing my next mini, a female bard (I suck at painting female faces).

Thanks Poilu!

One of the things that annoy me most is seeing photos of a miniature from like ten feet away where you don't really get to see any of the detail, neither in the miniature itself, nor in the paint job that was applied to said miniature.  And even though close ups sometimes are painful, they are very instructive.  For this one for example, I can see how her left eyeball I couldn't get quite under the eyelid like the right eyeball, and how the walnut brown underneath her left eyeball is much more prominent than on the other side. It's interesting too because this is a printed model, which I haven't done too many of, as of now a grand total of two, and it's interesting that seeing even on a "high quality print", especially close up, you can see the lines and layers of plastic that were placed.  In that largest closeup, in her hair that touches her face on her left hand side you can see the lines of print rather clearly.683099077_stonehavengnomecloseup.JPG.02297fb9013cb4f42c821de95a4313c1.JPG

Interesting; I thought that was extra detailing to bring out the hair.

I was going to go with black around the eyes, but I think I may try that walnut brown, seems more natural. Out of curiosity, what color did you use for the lips?

I almost always use Walnut brown to put in the eyes, mostly coloring the whole "eye hole" and then above it putting white if it's a small figure and then dotting with Walnut brown where I can get it to hit, and then on top of that some kind of eye color.  Walnut brown just isn't as harsh as black.

And for the lips, good question, I don't really recall.  It might have been some not super dark brown color and highlighted maybe with rust brown and then orange brown?  If I figure it out concretely I'll let you know. I wonder if I put the picture in that Reaper color finder that would help?

So here's what I found, which is a little confusing because I'm not a proud owner of Brown Sand, but I do have Earth Brown, Oiled Leather and Chestnut Brown. I would have sworn I used some kind of orange in there, but maybe with how I paint, which is a lot of thin layers, these get mixed up to appear something else.
