Love the paint job...I also really like your photography work. Really appropriate for creatures that would be in dark caverns...very thematic.

I always struggle to make the model  stand out and keep a dark background...care to share some tips?

I use a cheap light box but don't use the lights that come with it. The black felt I use is the self-stick kind that you put on a jewelry box (so its a fine thin felt) stuck to a cut poster sheet. I try to take during the day and just angle the camera flash to an upwards tilt so the flash light doesn't hit the mini. If I take at night I position a second light to end at the bottom end of the lip of the lightbox but doesn't extend inside the box and just keep angling the flash to get what I want. I know nothing about photography to play with camera functions, It sounds silly but all I know is how to push the button, and play with the light angles and basically that's it. But thank you for a complement I don't deserve.

I have these guys just sitting around waiting to be painted, but for some reason I just can't bring myself to get them started.  After seeing how great these look, I think I'll give them a try.  I think I can probably make them look half as good as yours..  I might copy your color scheme too.
