@Glitterwolf I use a Samsung galaxy phone.  Does a good job, but I think the lighting and a white-diffused light helps.  I've played around with distance from light, distance from phone.  What seems to work best is portrait mode on zoom at about 10 to 12 inches away. My final shot you see is zoomed in.

I hope that helps. Here's what the untouched image looks like:

I'm also really glad to hear the image on your end looks good because I feel like it looks overexposed or shows flaws.  Thanks, buddy!

Flaws that only you consider flaws because you painted it 😁  to everyone else it's a beautiful painting.

This probably happens to everyone. I usually look at macro shots of my minis and think I could've done better on a certain detail or I missed a spot here.

Your work is great. I like it. GG! Keep it up!

@Zloyduhthank you.  I say flaws with the utmost humility and modesty.  I look to so many other painters and think,  "how the heck did they do that?"  I know there's some who don't have to try a hard to get results 10x better than my hardest-best work.  That same realization of where I want to be compared to where I started is a lot closer now.  I also know that others may see my work as something aspirational for their work, in the same way I look to other's.  it's also important to know what things I see as flaws and aim to improve them by getting insight and feedback from others, helps me identify and grow.  Seeing flaws isn't a terrible thing, but when it's in a photo it may be clearer than when I was holding it.

My point is, I'm happy to see the flaws and even happier when someone else sees one and gives me some direction on what I can do to improve.  Putting my work out there is always intimidating, especially with the caliber so many are painting at, and yet we all understand and see the importance of support.  Make the flaws, present them, get feedback, gain confidence, improve.  It's a great thing to expose the work, but even better to have someone else see the opportunity I may have missed and help push me further.

I am not discouraged by the flaws you can see.  I am liberated by sharing them and hopefully learning in the process.  Flaws aren't bad... They're just a tweak that will be made in the future.

On to make more mistakes and flaws I can share and learn from. Onward!
