If so, are you a particular type (bored snacker, stress snacker, etc) or just like snacking all the time? And what is your go to anytime snack? Now to find something to eat........ Sometimes more than others. I'm definitely a stress eater, though. Right now, I prefer things like peanuts, cheese, and sausage. Sometimes I can find baked cheddar discs (just baked cheese), those help with the urge for something with "crunch" when you're wanting something more akin to potato chips instead of nuts. I'm trying to live la vida low carb, with inconsistent results. 6 hours ago, Corsair said: Fill in Quizzle for today, 19 May 2023: Have you ever hit "Reply to all" by accident when sending a snarky message with a comment about one of the participants in a multiperson conversation? *knocks on wood* That has yet to happen with me. I find that with email it is best to assume that anyone you don't want to read it will eventually read it.

I'm a professional idiot, aka a delivery driver. Easiest way to avoid the reply all button is to let your email inbox get locked down because of some stupid thick IT policy of "must be logged into once a month" yet they won't provide us with a terminal to do such. As for ones where I used email, I've either just ignored all emails (company policy was read but never reply, and if you were contacted by the ones we were contracted to, emails get forwarded to supervisors), or pretty much just deleted them (my last job). Conveniently, my last job made it easy, because as a delivery driver I'm supposed to be paying attention to the road and my job, so I'd wind up getting a call 2-4 hours later that would start with "did you get my email?" and to which I always replied "wait, you used email to contact a delivery driver? We barely look at those if we hear the notification" and then usually add in "sorry, too busy, gotta get back to work" to solidify the point. Always bugged me you'd explain "hey, if it's urgent CALL ME" and then they'd email you, and you couldn't fix it because they waited several hours, and so I just pushed it back on them to deal with, since I usually was driving a bunch every day, or had a lot of coffee to haul and put away... One or two did figure out that hey, call him, if he doesn't answer call again, and he'll try to pull over safely. Unfortunately, too many caught on to this and would then ring my phone endlessly, and then couldn't understand why I'd bark at them when I found out it wasn't actually urgent. Got way too many "well, you've got Bluetooth in the truck, right?" comments which I'd always point out "so, how was the drive to work this morning? Yeah, I'm in the thick of that on a highway, why do you think I didn't answer?" Tl;dr: despite temptation to do such on one or two occasions, I've never hit Reply All... And I've never done it by accident either, although it has been hilarious to see not only branch wide mayhem happen but a higher up ping THE ENTIRE COUNTRY. I turned my phone off that day so it didn't commit death by notifications...

This was inspired by one I did that actually involved your's truly, a Field Parole Agent, my boss who ran 44 counties worth of paroled sex offenders and high risk parolees on GPS tracking, a Deputy Director of our agency and a member of the Parole Board [placed there by the Governor]. The Parole Board guy wanted me to allow contact between my parolee and one of his victims. I just told him to put it in writing but he didn't want to take the responsibility, so he kept trying to harass me into allowing this. Well, all of my bosses were on my side, so I was okay. But one day after a particularly obnoxious email, I forwarded it to my boss with the comment "What kind of industrial grade crack is this moron smoking?" and , yup, I hit reply to all instead of forward. About 30 minutes later my boss calls me and asks if I realized I had hit reply to all. He then informs me the Parole Board member had had a complete and total high speed come apart and the Governor's Office had called the Deputy Director of Corrections. We he read the Parole Board Chairman and the others the Riot act over this and told them exactly what he thought of them! Then he called my boss and my boss told me any more contact was to go straight to the Director. Said the Director was laughing over the email and was firmly behind me, but, boy, that could have been a major disaster on me. 8 4 2

I did see that happen. But I was a member of the group “ All “ rather than the sender. It was a bunch of dumb, snarky jokes. And that one turned out to be a CLM for the sender. Two days later a send-to-all, company wide, dictum went out which boiled down to: don’t any of you peons ever do that again. 11

Jasper_the_2nd
Question. Saturday May 20th. Have you ever ordered hobby or household items and then spend the whole time while it is enroute thinking "well, I think it will fit there...will it?"? And did they fit where initially planned, or did plans have to change?

Yes. I’ve done that. 4 minutes ago, Jasper_the_2nd said: . . . and then spend the whole time while it is enroute thinking "well, I think it will fit there...will it?" No. I spend no time thinking about it at all while it is in route. It might never arrive. Online pictures never give decent size comparisons so there is almost never enough information to make a plan. Normally, there is no detailed plan. Formulation of a plan only happens after the gadget arrives and its size requirements become known. 4 minutes ago, Jasper_the_2nd said: And did they fit where initially planned, or did plans have to change? Have you ever ordered hobby or household items and then spend the whole time while it is enroute thinking "well, I think it will fit there...will it?"? And did they fit where initially planned, or did plans have to change? So this morning's question was brought on by a shipping update that my Neptune 3 Max , which was supposed to ship June 1st, is currently now scheduled for deliver on Monday..... When I bought my SV03 2? years ago I had a plan, which was an old desk we had that the kids used to use. Good solid desktop, should be fine. The SV03 has 350mm x 350mm build plate, which is significantly bigger than my original Ender 3. I thought it would fit with room to spare. Instead that desk now has a new top built out of left over shelving material from the garage. Fits the SV03 (and the Ender 3) just fine. But now the Neptune 3 Max has a 420x420 build plate. What's an extra 7 cm a side.....? I thought I'd have more time to check. Guess I'll be trying to figure that out this weekend. It "should" fit beside the SV03. Should. And I still need to figure out where the Ender 3 is going...... *looks around* .... so I'm out of empty flat spots......might be time for the original Mars to go. I haven't really used it since I got the Saturn 2.....then all of that could move there, and then maybe that is big enough for the Ender...... I'll be here playing hobby room tetris if anyone needs me......

DH comes in and says we should get something, and my response is "and where will we put it?" And this is after getting rid of a ton of crap for a basement remodel a few years ago. DH has at least 3 dead printers in the garage that have to go before he buys another new one. So I usually think long and hard about it, and get measurements before bringing home anything bigger than a loaf of bread. The exception being quilt fabric, because that gets turned into quilts which go back out the door, eventually.

I usually try to find out dimensions first and then roll fro there, but on occasion I either misread or the info is wrong, or in the case of the drafting table I got from work..... Totally fail to look up the dimensions before I get all happy and put my name on something. Most things eventually wind up having an actual home, although in the case of that drafting table my first three ideas wound up being a complete nope, and the last one, despite measuring three times it really did barely fit - it's literally friction fit in the closet! I did have to redo the entire living room organization when I got the kit for my second printer as well, and while it was only a modified version of my second idea, oh boy did it take a long while to get everything sorted into its place. But since we live in a one bedroom apartment, we tend to look at a few more things before something is picked up, just to be safe.

Last time I ordered a bed I thought I'd measured well enough, but not only had I forgotten to take the skirting boards into account like always, I hadn't thought of the height and the headboard clipped a wall socket. Luckily it still fit, but I can no longer plug my laptop in if I use it in bed.
