ratsmitglied
7 hours ago, Jasper_the_2nd said: Question, Tuesday, May 30th. Well, that month has flown by. With it almost over, how did you do this month in terms of any goals or plans you might have had? Did you accomplish any of your planned goals? Did new and exciting other things pop up and become the focus? Or did life decide now would be a good time for things to get too busy for goals? Goals are delayed because we need to rely on other people to do their jobs before we can actually do our bit (house build) And the song blasphemous rumours comes to mind

I got everything for RCon primed & a few things that I still need ordered. I was hoping to actually slap colors onto minis bit that is most likely happening next month. I really didn't have any goals set other then that. So I guess good?

I always seem to have an excess of plans and a deficiency in energy/wherewithal. That being said, I did manage to finish painting up the last four miniatures (heroes) to the HeroQuest Core Box and the four alternates and Mentor and Sir Ragnar out of the Mythic Tier expansion. And yes, life tried to distract as Youngest (who is approaching her 30th year) is now living with us bringing Strawbonnet #2 and two dogs. And Mrs. Strawhat will be dogsitting shortly as well. I'm gonna cut off the commentary there before I say something that could be held against me.
ejala
Some hobbying was done, not as much as hoped. Finished my monthly rcl entries but made pretty much no progress on the quarterly ones or reapercon entries for the second month in a row. Participated in a yard sale, exhausting and stressful for the whole week leading up to it. Made some money, but not enough to offset the insurance deductible for punching a hole in my fender with the new guardrail at the bank's ATM lane yesterday when I went to deposit some of the earnings. 😖

I needed to get my head screwed on straight after a depressing month of not finding any leads on a new job, so I went to church at the beginning of the month. It felt so good. I decided I wanted to keep the good vibes, so I've been reading either scriptures or quotes from past presidents of the Church every night. I've only missed a couple of days.

Jasper_the_2nd
Question, Wednesday May 31st. June is just around the corner. Any big plans for June? Hobby or vacation or anything else? And that's the month for me. Hopefully wasn't too painful. Looking forward to just answering Inarah's questions next month. 6

Anything more than that sounds like a great plan!

Nope, no plans at all, just the usual day to day stuff. Thank you for a month's worth of good questions.

Really the only downside is having to drive an hour into Calgary every day. Bad in the summer, really bad in the winter. Eventually I get to take the truck home, so the expenses won't be an issue.

Biggest plans for June is returning to marshal the Montreal GP. First time since 2018. Looking forward to that! Also doing a slalom this weekend, hopefully with my fun car, without anything new breaking on it. And Bolt Action tournament in between. That's a super busy month for me. Hopefully a bit of hobby time to paint minis, and work on my helmet. And print a bunch of stuff....

And that's the month for me. Hopefully wasn't too painful. Looking forward to just answering Inarah's questions next month. Buying a new fridge is at the top of the list. And immediately below that is hiring an electrician to do some work on the house I'm not comfortable doing. Signed up for a bunch of volunteer work for a community festival near the end of the month. Looking forward to that. Even though it's a decent amount of work, the festival is great fun and I always run into a bunch of folks I know but never seem to see during the rest of the year. For hobbying I'd like to get the kayaks out at least a couple more times, brew a batch of beer, and finish a mini I'm painting for the RCL. Fingers crossed that all happens. I'm currently handling the health care and housing for multiple seniors with developing mental issues. So all of the above could get thrown right out the window while I handle other folk's affairs.

I'm looking forward to a month with no plans, but I see on the calendar I have 4 events, a dinner, a doctor and a vet appt, so it looks like it will be somewhat busy from the middle of the month onward. Our biennial Regional Quilt Festival (aka convention) is the big one. It's a 4 day show, but I'll probably only go one day. They have a vendor hall to rival GenCon.
