With it almost over, how did you do this month in terms of any goals or plans you might have had? Did you accomplish any of your planned goals? Did new and exciting other things pop up and become the focus? Or did life decide now would be a good time for things to get too busy for goals? Didn't have any specific plans, but I was doing well 'Hobby-wise' until life and a really bad cold ganged up on me. 4 hours ago, Jasper_the_2nd said: Question, Wednesday May 31st. June is just around the corner. Any big plans for June? Hobby or vacation or anything else? And that's the month for me. Hopefully wasn't too painful. Looking forward to just answering Inarah's questions next month. Nothing really planned for June either, I just want to start feeling better so I can start doing stuff again.

Got some friends coming in mid-month, plus having g'kids at the place a big chunk of the month. And thanks for a really good month of questions, well done!

Mainly painting for ReaperCon, playing my weekly 5e game at the FLGS. I will be taking the night of the 24th off, my "paid" bday this year. I wanna run a bunch of demo games for FREERPGDAY this year. It's best I just take that night off to do it.

Did new and exciting other things pop up and become the focus? Or did life decide now would be a good time for things to get too busy for goals? It seems like they’re all busy, anymore! We got a contractor lined up to build us a retaining wall, and that took a huge chunk of work off of my hands (but out of my pocket…). We made it to and through the annual koi club convention, which ate up a weekend. We got the boy out the door for his school band trip to Disneyland, and he seems to have had a great time there. I managed to make a little planning progress towards tearing a wall off our house and reframing it. Daunting work, but having a plan makes it manageable. Also, I made a ton of progress on the quarterly contest figure, and regardless of how she does, I know I’ve learned a lot in the process! 9 hours ago, Jasper_the_2nd said: Question, Wednesday May 31st. Also, I need to finish my QC figure, get going again on my diorama, and start painting some of the busts I’ve acquired. It would be nice to get out for a few hikes or scrambles as well!

Plus my 20th anniversary is coming up later in June so I'm trying to think of something special for that.

Vacation next week, but June is also in the thick of collective bargaining negotiations. But near the end of it will be the launch date of the 40k's 10th Edition boxed set, so I'm hoping to get a box of that.

The big plan is to not get divorced...With the extra bodies in the house, it won't be as easy as it sounds. I am unsure if that should be purple or not. Less dramatically, I'm looking at working on my Genestealer Cult figures and maybe grabbing some other figures that I started and are currently sitting on my proverbial shelf of shame or maybe more HeroQuest. There will be some day trips next month--probably. If Strawbonnet #1's bio-dad's surgery schedule cooperates. If it doesn't, we'll just have to see what happens.

Hobby or vacation or anything else? Plan for June is to just make it through June because it's going to be a few rough weeks at work, probably overtime every day which gets exhausting. Then I get a week of paid vacation when the plant does shutdown in July. I'd like to actually paint something during shutdown, but it'll probably end up just being the outside of the house instead of a miniature. Thanks for the questions!

I accomplished the following: - Rebuilt the lower pond in the back yard into a 2000+ gallon Koi pond - Invented a new jewelry concept and cast a prototype that I hope to produce for sale at ReaperCon - Learned to enamel gold and silver - Finished the last of the dragons for Dark Sword (except for the final fit up and sizing; it is printing now) - Finished the first of three new minis for Reaper - Developed a dog manakin structure in Nomad (will make sculpting dogs easier in the future) 23 hours ago, Jasper_the_2nd said: Question, Wednesday May 31st. GoldenPiggy
I've been on vacation the last two weeks, so I missed the last few questions. I'll offer up some quick answers to those in case anyone is interested. On 5/25/2023 at 8:58 AM, Jasper_the_2nd said: Question, Thursday May 25th. Today's question is brought to you by my right shoulder, and by the letter F. As I get older pain seems to be more of a constant and less of a "once in a while". So, how are you feeling these days, pain-wise? If you take things to help, are they doing their job? (as always, feel free to share as little or as much as you are comfortable with). Even a few years ago, I wouldn't have had much to say to this question, but age and children take their toll. I deal with occasional back pain, have some headache issues (which I blame on the children), and I get tired faster than I used to, to say nothing of the knee problems I have had since I was a teenager. But it is all still mild enough that I can pretend it doesn't hurt. On 5/26/2023 at 8:21 AM, Jasper_the_2nd said: Question, Friday May 26th. In your area, what is considered a long drive vs and short or average drive? And do you measure the length of a drive in kilometers/miles, or in time? Question, Saturday May 27th. I'm at the race track running race control for the first motorcycle race round this weekend. What are your views on motorcycles in general? Are you a rider? Question, Sunday May 28th. Today is the Monaco F1 Grand Prix and the Indy 500. Have you ever been to Monaco or Indy? Would you like to travel to either (for the race or any other time)? I live in Texas, where it takes 14 hours driving time to cross the widest part of the state, so the definition of a long drive is pretty long. I have about a four-hour drive to get to Denton for ReaperCon, which I do not consider particularly long (though I would not do it if I weren't staying at my destination for at least a couple nights, unless I had to). And I always think in terms of time, but I feel like that comes from growing up in the Midwest; I've never really noticed if Texans do the same. I have no strong feelings either way about motorcycles, or about motorsports in general. I have nothing against them, I'm just not really interested. That said, I do love the movie Talladega Nights. On 5/29/2023 at 7:46 AM, Jasper_the_2nd said: Question, Monday May 29th. We are seeing a significant number of wildfires breaking out in our area, which is fairly unusual traditionally for our area. How are things weather related your area? Are they the expected norm or are you having an unusual year for conditions? We seem to be having a wetter summer than usual so far here in central Texas. I haven't looked at official numbers to confirm this, but it feels this way. On 5/30/2023 at 7:58 AM, Jasper_the_2nd said: Question, Tuesday, May 30th. Well, that month has flown by. I got all my work-related things done before leaving for vacation, and the vacation went well. I didn't really have set goals, but I am happy with my painting progress too. On 5/31/2023 at 7:07 AM, Jasper_the_2nd said: Question, Wednesday May 31st. June is just around the corner. Any big plans for June? Hobby or vacation or anything else? June is when I will try to recover from May. I have some work-related things I hope to get done, but no particularly specific goals. Thanks for a great month of questions! Now to head over to next month and get caught up...
