ejala
If Capri leggings are pants, then no, I'm not participating in no pants day. Which is odd as I'm more of a skirt person. The temperature this week has been anywhere from 30-80°f. I have acquired groceries, meds, and library books, so should not have to go out this weekend unless I get the mail tomorrow instead of dad. I've never been one for sports. Closest I watch is battlebots, and last night's episode, the start of the playoffs, is not yet on demand. And if you wait 3-4days they take out some of the commercials and let you use fast forward. I hope to paint this weekend. We shall have to see. If I paint today the remains of a skirt may be put over the capris, but those will stay on. As I am in a presentable shirt, the full paint apron is more likely unless I change. I don't lick the paint or drink the paint water, but I wipe and dry my brushes on my clothes.

It is ranging from 70° — 91°F, and there are rainstorms roaming what would otherwise be a Sunny, but largely flat, landscape. Not planning to go outdoors. Sun. Bugs. We hateses this, we does. It should be fairly nice here, in the lower 70s. I'm not sure how much, if any, rain we'll get. The only thing I'm planning on is attending Strawbonnet 1's soccer game and maybe running the mower. 13 hours ago, Jasper_the_2nd said: IQuestion, Sunday May 7th. Race day! This will be the first day of racing at my local(ish) motorsports track. It's also the Miami GP for F1, and probably a few thousand other races around the globe. Do you watch or participate in any sort of competitive activity? (be it racing, traditional sports, untraditional sport, speed painting competitions, beer pong, etc) I watch football and hockey. We regularly attend NCAA hockey games. We also watch BattleBots regularly. I was converted over in the old Comedy Central days but Mrs. Strawhat only "discovered" it a couple years ago. 13 hours ago, Jasper_the_2nd said: Question, Monday May 8th. Hobby check in time. (In general I'm referring to the hobbies normally discussed on these forum, so relating to miniatures. But feel free to also include any other hobbies you may partake in.) I really need to get more Heroquest done. I've only got the heroes left out of the Core, so it shouldn't be a chore, but it somehow is. They will get done, somehow. Hopefully this month. I don't think I can take another month of them.

Friday May 5th: I never wear pants. I wear shorts. Saturday May 6th: This week was the first time this year that we were in the twenties in Canada Units. Spring cleaning may soon be in order. Sunday May 7th: Competing with my procrastination with painting my models. Not sure who's winning. Monday May 8th: Now that the weather is warming up, more resin printing is likely in order, especially now that some friends are clamouring for 40k bits.

Normally, I'd take the Housemate for a long walk somewhere, but the country is closed down so everybody can watch a man be given a fancy hat, so there's nowhere to go...

It's been consistently warm and pleasant here for some weeks. Today we move into unpleasantly warm and the first of the summer weather. I've been working on my garden for the last two months, this weekend is the final push. I've got to finish digging out dandelions, put down compost and fertilizer, then weed barrier, and straw. Then I'll be able to plant all the seedlings I've been growing on my back deck. The humidity is higher than the temp, which is rising, I expect an hour or two in the sun will do me in for the remainder of the day.

Today is cool and drizzly so I'm sitting on my butt in the house again. Yesterday and maybe tomorrow we're doing yardwork and clean up in town and on the farm. Last year I sold my dad's collection of ruined farm equipment for scrap metal. When they removed it they were supposed to have used a large magnet to clean up all the small pieces but didn't. Driving near where they loaded the trucks cost me 2 tires and a gas tank on my pickup last summer. So while there's no grass we've been gathering up the leftovers. Picked a whole pickup box full yesterday. Very soon I'll be going hard on fixing fences. The garden on the farm still has a knee deep snow bank covering half of it so it'll be a bit before I worry about that.

That's an interesting way of cleaning up a mess. I wonder why they didn't do it. I am reminded of the all the screws left behind when the builders installed siding on the house. We used metal detectors to find them all over the place. We wanted to avoid tossing them around with the mower.

They also came in the middle of winter when it was -25 C and stormy to collect the stuff. Some of it was buried under 5-6 feet of snow. While I'm happy it's gone it wasn't a great experience overall. Still have another bigger area to clean up but it's not somewhere that I have to drive through regularly.

Mowing, mowing, mowing, plus a little weeding. Plus, sizing up Spring projects, but not actually getting started. The eastern shores of the pacific can be fickle to those of us in its path. It could be: hot (80F), dry, wet, cold (35F) across a single weekend in May. This particular weekend looks like mother earth decided to go on holiday - 55F and cloudy around the clock all weekend long. Pretty ideal, really!
