Food, Glorious Food! A Lord of Gluttony WIP

Recommended Posts

Thought a project thread might help get the hobby juices flowing (Not that I have a great track record of actually finishing them), and what better project than my new centrepiece mini from GW (Something else I don't have a great track record of finishing...), the Lord of Gluttony!

Eventually it'll look like this:-

But it starts off like this:-

At the end of day one, I've built most of their platform thingy:-

Couple of minor gaps to fill, but it went together surprisingly well.

And got the first Big, Crawling Dude put together:-

Let's see how much further I get tomorrow!

Cool Unit!

It is!

Bit more progress:-

The platform thingy is as built as I can do so far, probably should have left the wheels off, but I'm somewhat confident I can get a brush up in there.

Also got the other Big Crawling Dude put together plus their yoke(?) thing.

Still got the boss and his crew to go.

Been assembling over the weekend:-

E8fXFmc.jpg

A Paingiver and the Lord of Gluttony himself.

F91tjCR.jpg

Lashmaster and Priestess (For some reason my Priestess doesn't have a full Peacock feather like back crest like the one on the box),

CibYHIo.jpg

Little serving guy and (Upside down) canopy.

And with that everything is in sub-assemblies.

I also filled the little gaps on the platform, but ran out of time to start priming it.

It begins...

QVI1z3j.jpg

The snek canopy holder got a basecoat of Blue Violet (It's becoming something of a "go to" colour) and a coat of Purple Wash, then one side of it got layers of Blue Violet and 2:1 Blue Violet/Ghost Grey and a thinned glaze of Purple Wash.

Tomorrows job is to do the other side.

Finally, more progress:-

The other side got it's violet highlights, then it got Foul Green eyes, the spiky bit's are Brassy Brass with a Brown Wash and the belly is Iraqi Sand with a Sepia Wash.

Gotta highlight and varnish next, then the first bit is complete!

And more progress:-

lmqocwh.jpg

The snake belly got a highlight of Iraqi Sand and a glaze of thinned Sepia Wash, and the spiky bits got highlights of Brassy Brass and Polished Gold.

Since they're going to be drybrushed I started on the three statue bits (There's one on the back). Once again, this is a base of Blue Violet with a Purple Wash.

This thing is going to be seriously purple by the time I'm finished.

Nice progress!

Thanks, I'm getting there very slowly.

Been doing a little bit every evening:-

a9VdHaj.jpg

The knobbly shelf bit got a very light touch of Polished Gold.

Then I did all the framework, this started as a base of Leather Brown, then Brassy Brass, a Brown Wash, more Brassy Brass and finally a 1:1 Brassy Brass/Polished Gold mix.

Also did the seat cushions with a base of Sick Green, followed by a Black Wash, highlights of Sick Green and 1:1 Sick Green/Off-white and a Green Wash.

fHAmZ6v.jpg

Also did a test oval panel.

This is a base of Blue Violet, wiggles of Hexed Lichen and splooges of Blue and Purple Washes.

Not sure it passes for marble like I wanted, but hopefully it's at least visually interesting.

Works for me!

Yay!

Finally made a little progress (I'm having to keep my wrist strapped up a lot in the evenings at the moment):-

CSWQK5o.jpg

Did the rest of the upper ovals and the base of the snake thing.

lxOVfCC.jpg

Did the platters (Stormy Blue > Chrome > Blue Wash), and the plate of Arm Sashimi (The arm and ears are Dwarf Flesh > Flesh Wash > Dwarf Flesh > 1:1 Dwarf Flesh/Light Flesh, the bone nubs and eyeballs are Bonewhite, a Bronze ring and the Blood is Scarlett Red > Bloody Red. It then all got a Red Wash).
