Welcome to the world of Ultracryl - the brand new acrylic paint series for miniature painters and modelers that breaks new ground! Because we at Ten01 labs have spent the past 4 years developing the perfect hobby paints. Ultracryl therefore stands for:

  • Ultra pigmentation
  • Ultra saturation
  • Ultra opacity
  • Ultra matte
  • Ultra flow

Every single Ultracryl paint was developed in our in-house lab, extensively tested by us and various miniature painters, and then improved until its maximum quality was achieved. Now the time has come to introduce our Ultracryl paint series to the whole world - and thus also to you - and to realize the production via this Kickstarter campaign.

All Ultracryl paints are highly pigmented, offer excellent luminosity and opacity. They dry extremely matte, making them the perfect choice for any tabletop, modeling, or miniatures painter. Each Ultracryl paint also comes ready-to-use from the bottle and does not need to be thinned. And thanks to the new 20 ml Unicorn Bottles with the thin nozzles, you have perfect control when dispensing!

In the Ultracryl range, a distinction is made between two types of paints:

- Regular paints (R-Series/R-Sets): Maximum opacity through optimal pigment selection and mixtures. Ideal for every hobby painter!

- Monopigmented paints (M-Series/M-Sets): Maximum purity through a single brilliant pigment per paint. Depending on the pigment, the opacity varies (keyword: semi-transparent pigments). The perfect paints for experienced and professional painters who are not afraid of mixing!

Looks interesting and appears to be doing fairly well.  Not sure if I'll be backing this one as there are some Kimera Kolors I want to pick up on their current KS.

Understandable, and I agree, they are doing fairly well.  I went in for the big box (of doom), because I like the spirit and enthusiasm these guys have.  They've also been very open to answering questions, and are rather passionate about things.

I don't need any paint at the moment, but I appreciate that they are including the pigments, lightfastness, and transparency on the labels like most paints in this price range, outside of the miniature painting hobby, would.

Does it say where they’ll be produced?

If I remember correctly, they're buying the equipment to produce it themselves.  I'll mention it to Marcel that it isn't really mentioned all that much in the Kickstarter description.

I scanned it and didn’t see but thought I missed it. I buy Reaper paints bc they make them in Denton. I’m just trying to avoid stuff made in certain countries.

I beleive it will be Germany, given how much German is spoken on their Discord (although they try and steer conversations back to English in most of the channels)

If it wasn't so far out I might be more prone to backing it now but I'll wait for them to hit retail.

The main reasons stated on their Discord were to allow them to get their equipment, produce the paint, and then ship it in a window where frozen paint would be less of an issue to worry about.

That last one I was especially thankful for, because it sucks getting all excited only to find out you have frozen paint because it was shipped (without a choice) in the winter.
