As ready as I'm going to be I suppose. The only big summer activities we are planning for this year is kayaking and volunteering at some festivals. We've got the kayaks broken in and have a few dates to meet with others for some river trips. I've also got my volunteer shifts scheduled and have taken those days off at work. No vacations this season. But summer is my busiest time of year so vacations usually take place in the fall.

Not really, I haven't even been able to use up the 2 weeks of vacation carryover from last year yet. Due to CircumstancesTM , this week I have to use Time in Lieu instead of vacation time. I don't even know where to book an extra 2 or 3 weeks when we've become shorthanded recently.

No. I did set up the trampoline for our daughter but that's about it.

For example, have you made vacation plans, set up the backyard pool, bought park passes, broken out the deck chairs, camping equipment, or planned for activities usually done in the summer? Living in a north facing apartment, my physical preparations were limited to installing the air conditioning in my bedroom. Just in time for last week's first heat wave. If you count RCon as a summer vacation, then yes. Otherwise, as for vacations I do have plenty of vacation time in the bank, but I rarely take them in the summer. I do plan on taking the occasional Friday off. But since I've just been assigned to replace someone for the season, my position just became critical for maintenance, so I can't free myself too often. Aside from that, my mother's side of the family always has a family gathering in early August which I nearly always attend. My aunts and uncles are in their late 70s-early 80s, so each family gathering might tragically become their last.

I'm ready for it to be over. Vacation (Reapercon) plans are made. Maintenance on A/C has been done in the hope that this will be the first year that it doesn't break at some point during the summer. I have plans to use the grill a couple more times before I put it away for the season. (I typically don't grill when it's 90 + degrees outside).

No, I’m not ready. I mean, we had neighbors over for smoked ribs last night, and it felt pretty summery, but the real summer is going to be too hot, and I’m going to have too much to do!

Yup, I guess so. We have already completed the first travel trip with more reserved, paid for and scheduled through the end of September. Anything after that is a bonus.

For example, have you made vacation plans, set up the backyard pool, bought park passes, broken out the deck chairs, camping equipment, or planned for activities usually done in the summer? Nope, not as far as all of the above goes. No spouse, no kids, just my dogs, parents and currently my brother as he continues to recuperate. And we don't really do any of that these days. So it's work for now, with probably an additional hour of overtime per day all the way up until July shutdown. I dodged weekend overtime this past week as it was voluntary, but I have a nagging feeling this weekend may become mandatory OT for me. My plans are a stay-cation during the week of shutdown, where I'm hoping to have time to (re)learn Inkscape, though I'll likely end up doing house chores. Paint for the house has been purchased, a bit slapped on, but with all of the cottonwood and other allergens blowing around outside, the painting has been delayed for now.

Yes and no. I'm headed to Montreal next week for F1, and already have my time off booked for national Superbikes in July, those are usually my 2 big things. On the other hand, the snowblower hasn't made it out to the shed yet, one of the ACs needs to be installed, and the winter tires need to make it into the tire racks. So, about normal.

I'm ready for summer at the first sign of Fall.... Hate Fall/Winters. Gimme Spring and Summer! Anyway, We have a nice seat at the back of our garden. I cleaned the BBQ. We already visited some friends this weekend at a camping. Now when the roof is done ( and hopefully no bad surprises) I can start thinking about fun activities again. ejala
I made travel plans for a hopeful trip to reapercon earlier in the year. Finally bought con tickets last week since classes are going on sale next. Need to look at them and make a wishlist schedule.

Ac was hooked into the window last month due to heat waves and smoke, and we have a new HEPA filter which helps, although it's an annoying balance because we have a single hose "portable" air conditioning system (quotes used because it's like 110lbs), so whenever it's running it slowly pulls the smoke into our place. The only other real preparation we need to do for summer is clean the filters on said ac unit. We don't do much in the summer, as the past five years have been way too hot and/or smoky to do much.
