Jasper_the_2nd
1 hour ago, Inarah said: June 7 What was the biggest hobby miniature figure you painted by hand with a brush and paints? (Not spray paint, airbrush, "dip", speed paints, or finger paints) Khanjira. 7 day challenge, nothing by size 0s. Thats the biggest so far that I've completed. 10
Pezler the Polychromatic
1 hour ago, Inarah said: June 7 What was the biggest hobby miniature figure you painted by hand with a brush and paints? Count Urlik
1 hour ago, Inarah said: June 7 What was the biggest hobby miniature figure you painted by hand with a brush and paints? (Not spray paint, airbrush, "dip", speed paints, or finger paints) TBH, virtually every mini I paint starts with an airbrushed primer coat, but keeping with the spirit, it was Valfuryx for me. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/101172-valfuryx-the-vile-bones-v-201/
WhiteWulfe
I kind of want to get Khanjira, but not for seven day challenge. Hubby said I'm not allowed to do anymore of those. First surprise contractors, and secondly oh boy do I get crabby near the end...
Inarah
3 hours ago, TGP said: I need to know more before I can answer. I may not have a single qualifying model. Depends on the restrictions. Spray paint: Most of my painted things were spray painted as a first step — rattlecan primer. Disqualified? Airbrush: Never done that to a miniature. Dip: I think I know what this is, what if I tried for the same effect but used a brush to get there? Disqualified? Speed Paints: Meaning? Used paint bottles labeled “speed paints” OR used some technique intended to achieve a decent result quickly? Does either disqualify? Finger Paints: Huh whut? (Either way, I’ve not done that to a miniature…) -- primer layer doesn't count -- using washes is ok, as long as you're not dunking whole figures into a bowl and calling that a paint job -- speed paints: single layer (over primer is ok) of product such as Reaper Super Wash or GW Contrast Paint, or other product which is paint and wash in one bottle. -- finger paints: just covering the possibilities here

Haven't even touched Sophie's Revenge.
Evilhalfling
Dragons dont share 2 for me as well. The Dragon King from Kingdom death is larger. He remains assembled but in grey. He is an airbrush project. (assuming I ever get a fan / paint station assembled. ) I sold off the reapers Plat Dragon, and didn't get copies of Mal or the ship.
ejala
Kaladrax, although I did applique some paper shapes as I did him for the sugar skull challenge. But I painted the paper before using the hole punches. Runner up khanjira, though I cheated on the base and spritzed it with brown ink. After leaving just the base undone for 4 years it seemed easiest. Argent was a combo of painted layers of iridescent medium and drip splatter of alcohol ink, so he doesn't count. Maal won't count when/ if she gets finished because I splatter painted her wings and base.
strawhat
13 hours ago, Inarah said: June 7 What was the biggest hobby miniature figure you painted by hand with a brush and paints? (Not spray paint, airbrush, "dip", speed paints, or finger paints) I've completed four really big minis and one piece of scenery: Wizkids Gargantuan White Dragon, Star Wars Imperial Assault Rancor, Reaper's Mumlak, Reaper's Fiendish Lasher, and Reaper's Mystic Circle. I don't know which counts as "largest," though.

Thanks for the clarifications and refinements. It is this guy ^ (unless something now forgotten resurfaces from the murky depths of memory.) But what is that guy? (Not spray paint, airbrush, "dip", speed paints, or finger paints) I've rarely needed to paint big figures. But depending on how you measure "big", it's either the colossal skeleton (tallest) or the dragon Ebonwrath (surface area).
