Icewind Dale's finest swordsman

Recommended Posts

This is a model I'm nearly done with.  I said I was finished two times and I keep dialing in details.  This is my most-read character from my childhood.  I saw someone else paint this, much better than I could, but it inspired me to try myself.  I am happy with the outcome so far.

I have to make the base still, but what I have in mind will be fun when it's all done.

More to come.

I love it!  Great job with the color choices - it's dramatic, but coherent.  The NMM work on the swords is really nice, and the blue really sells the cool palette.  I love the skin, particularly the left hand!

I've got the glacier base nearly finished.

Letting the water effects edge dry so I can fill the rest in with the clear water.  I'm hoping when I'm done it looks like I've dropping into the water and looks very very very very very cold. 20230709_100747.thumb.jpg.7c6b6c15d321c23682561e6375f524ec.jpg

@deathly halliwell I found a painter on Instagram who did the same model, and I reached out to him.  His is really good and waaaaaay better than mine.  Goes by Craft World Studios.

The model is from Collective Studio.  It was not the easiest to find.  I recommend not getting this below 32mm with all the crazy detail. The etsy printer I got it from metamorphicmimi .

Thanks for commenting on the skin tone @Count Urlik and @deathly halliwell.  I used a mix of dark blue and salmon. I also used a very, very, very light purple wash to get the contrast and add warmth.  Took me about 5 or 6 layers and 3 highlights.  I normally don't stop until I'm done, but I had to come back to this one twice to finish.
