Bones V Dragon Kalanzar the Wicked

I put this up on the Facebook group and it was well received, but I thought I would put it up on the forums so it can be more effectively found by a search and isn't subject to the vagaries of the Meta algorithm.  Apologies to those who have been inflicted with it twice.

 

This is the first dragon I've finished, well to be honest, it's the first one I've painted with the intent to make it something to be proud of, and not just "get some paint on it so it can go on the table".  I admit I am quite pleased with the results.

He looks battle-scarred, especially the wings, which makes him seem more realistic.  Nicely done!  I love the classic red and yellow color scheme.

 

(Incidentally, that three-headed troll at the side of the last picture looks fantastic too.)

He's my RCL trio for July.    Have a couple bonus pics of him.

I love the rust effect on the morningstar; I couldn't see that from the dragon picture.  The teddy bear on back is the best part of that sculpt, and I really like what you've done with it.

I'm tell you, the red oxide paint from the Bones V KS is one of the best paints I've picked up.  I works well for a lot of things, including rust.

Lots of attention to detail there, that's definitely something I wouldn't want to stumble upon in the middle of nowhere. Nicely done!

The dragon has an excellent, classic color scheme and it's pulled off very nicely, here. Perfect choices for the highlight colors. 

 

The 3-headed troll is also great. I like the rusty mace and the skin tone, in particular. Funshine Bear is also a great touch. I'll have to remember that when I paint this one. 🙂
