Reverend Shartan
After getting my Saturn 8k, i decided to install Lychee that came on the supplied thumb drive. In the installation process, the program couldn't "find" about a half dozen files....no big deal. Running the software, I tried to get Lychee to recognize my Saturn from the list of printers that Lychee "supports". Each time I tried to select Elegoo, the program defaulted to Anycubic. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, what did you do to resolve it ? Thanks in advance Reverend Shartan
Ratmaster2000
They are supported by Lychee now? I thought they had their own proprietary software or will still working with Chitubox? Did you have another slicer program installed? I know that if you have a program that uses similar files (like lychee or chitu), or even an update of the same program, it will not install and associate those files, and I wonder if that may be why it doesn't identify the saturn. It is Chitubox, not Lychee.....my mistake. I had both programs open for file slicing. The issue is still the same...Chitubox won't recognize the Saturn.... Ratmaster2000
If you have both, it might be a conflict? Not sure, the only things I have on my computer are chitubox and cura (elegoo version). And my chitu is an older version I refuse to upgrade because I don't want any issues and my printers are OG saturn and Mars 2 pro's, so no need for the newer stuff. It works, I aint breaking it. You MIGHT want to upgrade chitubox, it's possible the version you got is not the most up to date, and therefore it doesn't show the saturn.
Cygnwulf
Better bet would be to go to the website and download it from there instead. the thumb drive builds that come with the printers often have a lot of bugs, you'll get more up to date software directly from the source. The saturn is absolutely supported by both Chitubox and Lychee, as I've used both. I tend to stick to Lychee these days, Chitubox has some cool features but they still have memory errors and I get more odd artifacts when I slice with it.

Funny thing.....I DID download the software from the website, and still wound up with missing or unusable files.... I'll clear both Lychee and Chitubox from my laptop, and do a fresh download of Chitubox. If there are no issues, then I might download Lychee as well. Thanks for the suggestions folks 🙂 Reverend Shartan
TheAuldGrump
You may need to update your printer's firmware - we updated ours not all that long ago. Let me check. Looks like it should have shipped with the most recent firmware. The Auld Grump You may need to update your printer's firmware - we updated ours not all that long ago. Let me check. The Auld Grump It is the software that I got with the printer.....I cannot choose Elegoo, even though it is listed as an available printer. I will consider updating the firmware. The printer has not been powered up, and won't be until I get the slicer software issue figured out. Reverend Shartan
Reverend Shartan
So, I found the solution to the issue of Chitubox not recognizing my Saturn......in the printer selection drop down, I had to double click on the Elegoo name, and then a complete list of their printers became available. I scrolled down to the Saturn 8k, and selected it. Problem solved. Would have been nice to know about this requirement before hand, but meh. It's solved.
