Bonus: Have you ever tried Pawpaw fruit? I like movies but these days I rather watch them at home. Everything I might want is there, no obligatory break and no crowd who might be on their cellphone/won't shut up/ otherwise misbehave... Pawpaw Fruit. I had to look that up. Seems like something I would eat, never tried it since it's not available here.

Bonus: Have you ever tried Pawpaw fruit? I like going to a movie theater, but I also don't mind waiting and watching at home, where the concessions are a lot cheaper. I don't think I have tried Pawpaw fruit. I'm not sure I have ever been offered it.
Cranky Dog
1 hour ago, Thoramel said: Question September 21: Do you prefer to see new movies at the theater, or would you rather wait and watch them at home and why? It'll depend on the movie and its reviews. Or more often than not these days, the schedule. My local theatre only shows the original English language versions past 9pm, which is very inconvenient during weekdays. If it has favourable reviews and I was eager to see it, theatre. Particularly if it's IMAX movies like Denis Villeneuve's Dune. If the reviews are bad but I still want to see it, I'll wait (Star Wars episode IX). 1 hour ago, Thoramel said: Bonus: Have you ever tried Pawpaw fruit? I had to look it up. So no. Weird that I never heard of this native plant/fruit.

Bonus: Have you ever tried Pawpaw fruit? Depends. If it is something big that I've been waiting for, the theatre. We like going, usually on Wed or Thurs as they are the emptiest nights, but snacks and the like are getting crazy expensive. Otherwise we usually wait. My wife really likes having movie nights at home. Bonus I have not. I don't believe it is available here, although I don't pay a lot of attention to the fresh fruit section, since it all has a lot of sugar, which isn't great for my blood sugar.

Rahz
22 hours ago, Thoramel said: Question September 20: What's the oddest way you have ever been injured/injured yourself. For example, my wife managed to somehow give herself what amounts to a deep paper cut on her eyeballs yesterday while removing a mask. Quite the odd injury and now I'm sitting here at home taking care of her and letting her know I will be using this to make fun of her for being a klutz for a long time to come. I think the "oddest", at least to me, was compressing my spine while relaxing in a pool with my son. I had spent the night at the hospital with my dad after he had a stroke and had promised my son I'd attend the "parents' day" at his swimming lessons, when we're allowed to join the kids in the pool... Beach entry pool and I was facing the entry and I kind of let myself flop forward into the water... My chest hit the bottom and I threw my head back so hard to avoid bashing my face that I messed up my spine. Still hurts to this day... A much "cooler" option was falling off a wall while bouldering and I caught myself with one hand which wrenched my shoulder out of whack. I did finish the route though, and apparently it looked spectacular, so I count that as a quasi-win. My shoulder likely disagrees... 2 hours ago, Thoramel said: Question September 21: Do you prefer to see new movies at the theater, or would you rather wait and watch them at home and why? Bonus: Have you ever tried Pawpaw fruit? Depends on the movie I guess. Going out to the movies used to be my normal date night with my wife, followed or preceded with a visit to a coffee shop. Now... Unless she's really really craving movie theatre popcorn and there's something worthwhile seeing in theatre, it's really not worth the cost, IMO. Pawpaw fruit is ok. Tried it a coupe times. it's got nothing on good mangos...

Bonus: Have you ever tried Pawpaw fruit? I definitely prefer watching movies and shows in the comfort of my own apartment. I enjoy being able to: pause for restroom breaks, eat any type of food/drink, focus on the movie and not deal with the (mis)behavior of others, and bask in the financial savings for other hobbies! Edit: I have not tried pawpaw fruit! Seems pretty cool though! Edited September 21 by Elyscia

Bonus: Have you ever tried Pawpaw fruit? While I enjoy going to the theater, but it's been since 2019. I have nothing against going, just haven't gone. Hopefully at the end of the month, I will break that chain & see "The Creator " as I really like the visuals on that one. Never heard of PPF, so going to say no. I just looked it up & I don't like mangos, so definitely no.

Bonus: Have you ever tried Pawpaw fruit? Depends on the movie. There's only a few where I'm like YES MUST SEE IN THEATER such as Jurassic World cuz big stompy dinosaurs. Otherwise, home is cheaper and more comfy. Also less loud! Yes and it's amazing, like a tropical custard! MrBoot passionately wants to try to grow some, but given they're a bit tricky and you also need several, I don't think it will be anytime soon. Bonus: Have you ever tried Pawpaw fruit? I refuse to do the theater, as far too often action scenes are stupidly loud (to the point of ears ringing for up to two weeks afterwards), and dialogue usually is way too quiet. I also don't like just how often theaters have super sticky floors. I'd much rather watch and enjoy it at home. Screen isn't anywhere near as large, but alongside the previous things there isn't the idiot that decides they have to talk on their phone... As for the bonus, never heard of the fruit.

This is one of those times it would be nice to know some of you IRL. I could have hooked y'all up! The reason I thought to ask that question is because a friend from the gardening program at our local land grant university gave me about a thousand seeds that are ready to be planted. I bagged them up in a mix of peat and soil and have been handing them out all week. Just dig a hole and drop them in. Alas, I'm down to just a few dozen seeds left and those are all getting planted this fall next to a stream down on the farm.

Never tried a Pawpaw fruit, not sure I've even heard of them before.

Bonus: Have you ever tried Pawpaw fruit? I'd prefer to wait for them. I don't do well in theaters anymore. Inevitably I will have to pee 30 minutes in and then miss something critical. I will get overwhelmed by the levels of sound. I will get sleepy. So it's easier to watch them at home where I can pause and control the volume. I do not recall ever having a Pawpaw fruit.

Bonus: Have you ever tried Pawpaw fruit? I'd rather watch at home. First off NO COMMERCIALS OR TRAILERS FTW!!! The AV setup is pretty good, the food is better, I can drink more and stop things whenever someone wants a break. Also, we can rewind to figure out what the %^$&$^ someone was mumbling at the key moment. I'm pretty sure I had them back when we lived in Michigan, but I'm having trouble recalling a particular meal. Now I think I'm going to have to hunt some down!
TGP
7 hours ago, Thoramel said: Question September 21: Do you prefer to see new movies at the theater, or would you rather wait and watch them at home and why? Watch at Home. But without waiting. (If I’m interested I want to see it before some fool spoilers it for me.) “Reserved” Theatre seating was the last straw that turned me against theaters. 7 hours ago, Thoramel said: Bonus: Have you ever tried Pawpaw fruit?
