Titleknown
Well, this is also a problem I've noticed with the packaging on Wizkids mini packaging too, but I'm curious why Reaper does it as well. Like, for a lot of things that're hung on racks in retail I've noticed the hole for hanging them is usually punched out in a sort of "hook" formation designed in a way that you can take them off the rack to look at them without taking everything else in front of them off first. But the minis I've seen have that bit punched out as just a regular hole so that if you, say, want to look at one all the way in the back of the rack you have to take all the ones in the front off first. And this is a notable pain in the rear when one's browsing minis in ones FLGS. So, why are minis packaged like that? I did notice that the name of the mini's put on there so it's visible when browsing through said rack, which I'm presuming might be the reason, but still, it seems like there should be a way one can do that without making it harder to browse through? Does anyone get what I'm talking about here?
Inarah
Reaper blister packs are standard packaging for the majority of small products that can be packed that way. I'd guess that the "hook formation" you talk about is both more expensive (want to pay extra for the fancy packaging?) and prone to being bent and falling off the rack. 5

I live in the Netherlands, we have few stores like this, but those who have use two methods that will make it a lot easier to rummage through them. 1. They are put in a stand, sort of open drawers, so you can flip through them ( like they do with vinyl records ). That way you can see the top of the blister which usually mentions what kind of mini it is, just pick it up/put it back. 2. They are hung on a rack, but sorted, So every Sku has it's own place. Just don't put all the different minis on the same hook. You see a Dwarf? Then all the ones behind him are the same Dwarf. Etc. tommyzolla
The hook style tears if people yank them off the hooks imho. Maybe people handle things with more care where you're from, but at my FLGS heaps of the hook style blisters need to be taped or stapled back after someone yanked it off the hook clumsily. I like the Dutch flip though idea that @Glitterwolf is taking about, and the SKU set up, but I don't think we're at that point of peak organisation down where I am!
Mad Jack
Because of how the cardboard backings are made, it's less expensive and easier to just put a standard round or oval hole in the cardboard than to have a cut-out that forms the hook shape when it's removed.

Pegazus
Yeah, the hook style is nice. But one of my hobbies (?) is cleaning up the toy section while my wife shops. The Hot Wheels are always a mess and there are always 10-20 packages that’ll never see the hook again due to tearing. Ruins my day when I can’t finish that. Well, almost ruins.
