Moderator TaleSpinner Posted October 5, 2004 Moderator Share Posted October 5, 2004 A long long time ago, in a town far far away I was a freshman in college. My friends and I would watch movies every Thursday night and sometimes Saturdays. The senior who ran the movie nights had one rule, before watching any movie, we had to watch the MP and the Holy Grail. I have seen that movie over 70 times and I still like it. Bill_Adcock
Hellboy Dagon The Thing (1982) All the original Universal monster movies, from Phantom of the Opera in 1925 to Creature from the Black Lagoon in 1954, including all sequels to all of them except the 1943 remake of Phantom of the Opera and the film The Creature Walks Among Us (1956 or 57, I think) They're largely being released in special DVD boxed sets, with Frankenstein, Dracula, and the Wolfman already out, and Creature, Mummy, and Invisible Man coming out on October 19th. The Island of Lost Souls (1932) -- "What is the Law?"

marmar63
Dagon Isn't this the one that's based on "The Shadow over Innsmouth"? Heard really mixed reviews of it, from delightlfully cheese to downright awful.

Spike
Not having cable TV, Steve and I have collected a huge load of DVD and VHS. I find there are a few that we watch several times a year. Those being, The Longest Day Suicide Kings Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon Mouse Hunt The Blue Max Kelly's Heroes Tombstone But with Halloweeen coming up, it's time to dust off our holiday favourites, like.. It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown A Nightmare Before Christmas Plan Nine From Outer-Space

I dont know if I could watch it again, I might go insane. I heard the book was quite good. Yesss, Clockwork Orange fantastic movie, forgot to add that to my list. Actually I think its one of those rare cases where the movie is better than the book. One more to add: Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure
Qwyksilver
The book was excellent. I found the movie was a lot easier to follow the slang because there were often visual references available that you do not get from text. I would not say one was better over the other, but it is definitely one of those books where the movie will not disappoint. "I was cured alright..."
