Stern Kestrelmann
Thanks everybody for your FB. Sorry, I didn't stick with the poison effects gang. I may try it on another model. Yes DS her face is a little strange. She's missing eyes brows for sure and her mouth is a bit pinched. I may add eyebrows, but her hood and hair line made it difficult when I tried initially. MC- I swear I wasn't trying to do gold NMM. It's a bubonic brown, with various washes and highlights. I needed to make it different from all the other leather pieces on the model. D- Cloak and armor was suprisingly simple. Black base on a black prime, then highlighted with shadow grey, washed with black ink, then highlighted/ lined with shadow grey/ codex grey mix, washed again with black ink. Darkstar
That's a great technique for getting it to look like actual leather in RL. I love that effect. For a nice brown realistic looking leather try this, base coat scab red with a nice and solid coverage, then wash with sepia or dark brown ink. Then highlight with a mix of scab red and the inkwash...then wash again....I swear it looks like they are wearing actual leather garments, with the right kind of oily look to it. Good job on the cloak, it looks like black leather which is much harder IMO to acheive than brown.
FirstLevelFighter
Congratulations, SK. She looks appropriately dark and sinister! I like the blades as they are, they work well with the dark blacks and the other metals of her armor. The swords looked very cool with the green gradation, but they didn't look poinsonous. The leathers are great, her eyes are beautiful. Well done! Darkstar-I'm going to give that leather formula a go. Scab Red is one my favorite Citadel colors. It's nice to find yet another use for it. Thanks!
