Qwyksilver
I have to reiterate Spartan's comments about 4 pages back. This is one of the funniest threads I have read in a while. Gods, please notice the virgin cow, smothered in ambrosia which I am grilling to appease you. For the vegetarians, I have a mastered Tofu-fu. There is also a cow shaped pile of soy, smothered in ambrosia.

Greyhawke
Ah, I see the kids have been playing whilst i was away... A mysterious, grey-robed figure walks amongst the remains of the ruined wasteland that was once the place he called home. He stares woefully at what is left after the devastation wreaked by the damned creatures from Experiment 626. Tears stream from his eyes as he gingerly overturns the tattered remains of a child's doll; it's charred clothing turning to dust at his touch. The man now searches the ruins at a feverish pace. As he walks through the rubble, he finds what he had prayed he would not, the owner of that doll. A small girl, no more than 10 years of age, partially buried under what was once a roof beam, her curly brown hair splayed out around her head almost as if it were a halo. With a heave of more-than-human strength, the man lifts the beam off of his little girl and tosses it to the side. Then with a gentleness befitting a mid-wife with a newborn, he carefully lifts her from her resting place and carries her to a small clearing. There he sets her down, carefully arranging her dress, placing her in a state of peaceful rest. Then he stands fully erect and raises his face to the heavens... NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! His scream of anguish flushes a remaining creature from its hiding place DIE!!!!! With that, a blast of what appears to be pure light fires from his outstretched hand and strikes the creature, leaving nothing but motes of dust in its place. Then he raises his hands to the heavens, and does the unthinkable. With one thought, and a tremendous amount of power, the man releases a rain of lightning that seeks out all of these creatures wherever they may be hiding, blasting them to pieces where they stand. Afterwards, the man collapses, sheltering his lost daughter's limp body with his own, crying into her soft hair...
Unglef
When'd this thread suddenly start sounding like something from a Robert Jordan book?

tatsu
These heavenly hosts are great! You should see the miniatures they're painting! Fantastic~! You just got to get used to the heavenly glow, though. It's a little harsh on the eyes at night.

Enchantra
*Through the mists appears a form, approaching the man holding his Daughter, sheltering her dead body. She kneels down and places a hand on the girl, her hand glowing and the girl's eyes flutter open, and she softly speaks, "Daddy?" as she looks up at her father. The girl, arisen from the dead, awakes. The Goddess vanishes into the mists as she had appeared.*

Qwyksilver
Ambrosia... wuzzat, a type of mushroom??? ;) Food of the gods according to Greek mythology, it continues their immortality along with nectar (beverage). Golden apples in Norse, etc etc
Vinny
Also the cure for Grey Death in Deus Ex. The food of the God in Greek mythology. I think it's just a legendized form of mead.
Qwyksilver
Its also a dessert dish with oranges, shaved coconut and pineapple. I think the "nectar of the gods" would more likely be the glorified mead. Ambrosia if I remember correctly was described as a solid food. And most important thing to remember. "Ray, the next time someone asks you if you're a god. Say YES!"
