haldir
gamers mark anv of D&D The semi local cable news network (thou the local cable provider yanked th station last year, glad we switched to DIRECTV when we moved) has a story on the 30th anv of D&D. Nice to see the game in news, without all the negative crap that goes with it. Randy M
Enchantra
Today was "Worldwide D&D Day" according to the Wizards of the Coast website when I was on it yesterday. We should all sing Happy Birthday to one of our most beloved games that lead to many other RP games being developed. (OK so it's cheesy, but hey, it's late at night and I'm getting punchy.) Greyhawke
All I can say is that it's about time somebody PUBLICLY showed the good ol' game in a positive light! Now if I could just afford the books, I could make characters to play on the gaming threads here

Another good thing is look to see if you can find any online that people are getting rid of. Try Ebay or Ubid. Not to mention post that you are looking for them. Who knows, someone might have a copy they no longer need that they are willing to throw in your direction. Sometimes gaming stores will also accept used gaming books, so they might have used copies you can purchase.
pae
Ebay is definitely a good place to look, but I've gotten just about all of mine from Amazon.com, since they are always cheaper than list price there.
deflagratio
Ebay is great. I've been looking at getting a copy of Warhammer Fantasy Role Playing from it. They are going for 1 British pound and such.
Darkstar
Ebay is great. I've been looking at getting a copy of Warhammer Fantasy Role Playing from it. They are going for 1 British pound and such. That is an awesome book. I used so much information from that book when planning my Empire army...it's definately a "career" based Rpg, but I found it engaging and different. For that price you can't go wrong! I've heard that they're making a new version soon...
haldir
I have a ton of WHRPG stuff, original & Hogshead stuff. including the first book in the Slaves to Darkness series (now that book has some stuff that makes the Book of Vile Darkness to shame!!!) love playin that back in it's day, it's where I got my black orcs for my D&D game (thou mine are bigger & stronger & a tad bit smarter then normal orcs) & I love Skaven so I threw them into D&D as well. Lars Porsenna
Ebay is great. I've been looking at getting a copy of Warhammer Fantasy Role Playing from it. They are going for 1 British pound and such. IIRC Games Workshop is returning the RPG to their control and will, sometime in the future, release a new edition of the game (though so I understand they will NOT be re-publishing some of the old supplements or adventures). This will use the old WHFRPG engine. Something to think about before plunking down your geld... Damon.

If you are just looking to learn the rules and play in a pbp game then this should help.

They made their deal with BL publishing which is the RPG subsidiary of GW. This includes both Warhammer and Warhammer 40K. 2nd Edition Warhammer Fantasy is due out in the spring of 2005.
