Halfling mage

oooo I definately concur....This one is just begging for that "Garrity touch" Although I'd really be interested in seeing Bobby Jackson's take on it, considering my fondness for his latest work (the Templar Lightbringer from the Warlord line).

Say, there's a question.  Will he be a DHA fig?  Or wil he be in the Warlord line?

The Halfing Mage will be a Dark Heaven Legends figure. :-)

I'm pretty sure that all halfings go to Sandra as a matter of keeping consistancy within the race and scale of the line. But you're right, I think Bobby Jackson would have done a bang up job on him as well. I guess we'll just have to satisfy ourselves with the anticipation of the fighter with spiked chain, Piotr Irongale, that is due out in February from Bobby!

Lady Tam

You know, we keep trying to convince him that we need to do a coffee table art book featuring his artwork. He doesn't believe us!

I like the slimmer halflings much more than the old hobbits....they just seem much more practical as PC's. I just thought RPing an old halfling would be a bunch of whining about food and homesickness. The new halfling is much more aggressive and adventurous. Also I can't see a chubby halfling (or anything else) lasting too long in a dungeon before it becomes lunch.

Alright, I'm going to be rehashing things that were said two pages ago, but forgive me, I've been out of the loop:

To whit: I like skinny Halflings. 3E is the best thing to happen to them in a long time. I have never liked the pear-shaped halfling as an adventurer. And yes, you would be pear shaped too if all you did was hang around the Shire, smoking Pipeweed and having Breakfast, Second Breakfast, Elevensies, Brunch, Luncheon, Afternoon Tea, Dinner AND Supper! Good food does that to you (says the man looking down at his own form).

I would also like to point out in Fellowship (the book) once the Hobbits hit Bree and meet Strider at the Prancing Pony, they begin to /really/ travel, and they 'tighten their belts' I believe that's how Tolkien put it. So you can have your chunk-style hobbit at first or second level, but once you start adventuring, you'll slim down right quick.

Some more opinionated ideas:

I always consider non-specialist Mages to be like bookworms, or Computer types, too busy pouring over information to remember the basic things, like eating. So they tend to thin out even more. (shows how long I've played DnD, I still call them Mages, and I call Rogues 'Theives'.

Anyways, this thread seems to be on its way out, and I thought I would stick my craw into it however briefly. I love the picture, I hope the Rabbit is seperate, and I'm going to go off and build that character now. Talk at you all soon!

Ah, the stereotypical skinny computer guy, eh?
