Try as you might to protect your land, but lord Bloodspire will conquer all. However, in death, you may be given the honor as the foot rests to I or the other lords

Here's the best 1000 point Dwarf army I've come up with so far:

TROOP 1

Captian w/LMW & GMA

Ivar w/GMA & LME

PiercersX4

WarriorsX5

TROOP 2

Captain w/LMW & GMA

Margara w/LME & Improved Protection

ShieldmaidensX5

Both troops are equiped with musicians. The drawbacks are that nobody is a Warmaster, and you only get two cards, but there's a good mix of melee, ranged, and magic.

P.S. Caden, what part of DWARVEN EYES ONLY do you not understand, jerky? ::P:

BWAHAHAA

"Outside the box" 'e says.....

Yes The chainmail wariors make excellent sheild maidens too bad there was only one pose =(.

I need to go find some more I only have 2.

Also as for the Celtos crossbowers...Im making my peircers a little more expensive and adding a great sheild to them all to simulate the pavises they come with. Makes them more expensive but then they get deflect and +1 to DV.....

 Outside the box

Yea, the single pose is rather annoying for the female warrior from chainmail, not sure I want to spend the time doing any converting though. Rummaged through the boxes and did come up with five minis, so there will be a troop of field maidens coming up.

Mmmm Great Shield to your piercers, do you think that will be worth the effort and the points?

First it was dem dimspittle bunch, then came the pointy ear pretty girly boys and now we an infestation of the living impaired variety.

Me thinks the Tavern needs a full time bouncer :grr:

One thing you have correct is that the girly elves are quite annoying...unfortunatly the Necropolis is surrounded by them (see balance of power)

Well, I suppose we could gladly tolerate a Dwarf presence... but the Darkspawn will have it soon enough...

Congrats are in order to Unglef and Sivrel for returming Tagarthos to dwarven hands!

Glad to do it. My 1000 point army is now 4-0, including a couple of surrenders.

Let's talk about our beloved King Grimsteel.

Most Warlords are between 200 and 260 or so. Some are mighty fighters and some are level three casters. Thorgram is certainly a mighty fighter, but not overwhelmingly so. He IS the only warlord with a ranged attack and he has Scry Shot. It seems to me that this combination is valued at the cost of an other warlord plus an eagle, give or take.

My question: Who among you has used the Sweet King and how'd it work out for you?

Never, ever, ever use him unless you have to (1001+ point games). You can get two Captains with GMA and LMW and about five more grunts if you don't purchase him.

When I do use him, I outfit him with GMA and the Lesser Accuracy upgrade (at the least). Try not to get him surrounded, as he will fall quickly (but take a lot out with him). Lanse is correct. Thorgram and his Scrye Shot are very useful in a dungeon. I usually put him in a troop with a priest, at least three crossbowmen, and some warriors equipped with a musician. Never field a Dwarf army without taking advantage of March to the Pipes.

It is kind of unfair that he is the second most expensive thing in the game, the most expensive being a dragon, but if you use all of his abilities correctly, he is worth the points.
