Lord Baasen
Hmmm...I've got the Necro box set, Guantfield, and Elsabeth. Where to go next? Wraiths? Crypt bats? Archers? For sure Naomi and a banshee. And Azraphan is too cool looking. Get yourself a Banshee or two. The Gargoyle is also a nice Solitaire. For Troops, get yourself some Wraith Harvesters or Skeletal Breakers. Crypt Bats and Eikar are a nice troop selection, but I'd get the Wraiths first. Moderator Froggy the Great Posted November 17, 2004 Moderator Share Posted November 17, 2004 If you're ever playing in a dungeon or a maze setting, you cannot have too many wraiths, as they go right through the walls in a straight line. Lord Baasen
Hehehehe...silly un-living Come down by Denelspire so we may liberate your souls into the true afterlife! Uh, did you just INVITE a Vampire into your dwelling? Silly Metal Man. I have found that while attending a funeral, using your second action to loot is generally considered uncouth. Wow, I lost my coffee on that one! FUN-NEE!
Qwyksilver
Okay, just a quick question about incorporeal. That just means that terrain barriers really do not exist for you if you travel in a straight line. It has no impact on combat though, does it? Like you need a specific kind of weapon to attack it. I am guessing it probably improves the DV for these figures significantly, but is this it?
Moderator Froggy the Great Posted November 17, 2004 Moderator Share Posted November 17, 2004 The only stated benefit is that you ignore terrain. You cannot move through other models unless they are undead or incorporeal too, and you can't stop in the middle of another figure's base. So far as I know, you cannot use this ability to fly or burrow, though I'm given to wonder if you can move in a straight line in any direction if you're inside a large block of stone. Lord Baasen
An interesting question Frosch, this ability would be useful for hiding a Banshee in reserve. The Part Spell would obviously push the model out. Qwyksilver has an interesting point about non-corporeal and magic weapons. If you make a house-rule out of it, be fair to your opponents and up the cost of non-corporeal by at least 15pts.
Hexxenhammer
You guys are thinking too hard. It's the will of the attacker that allows them to harm something incorporeal. And they can't fly or go up or down because supernatural laws are arbitrary.
Terminalcase
Ok, I would like to say, I picked up alot of figs for the necropolis, Syphrilla, Judas, the crimson knight, the death knight, briarkiss, the boxed set( judas, malek, 12 skeleton warriors), 4 archers, 3 wraiths, banshee, umm I also have the wraith elite thingy. What i can tell, I am missing crypt bats, skeleton breakers, the crypt bat lord, the flesh golem dude and a gargoyle.

mateybob
and malek considered a useful character because i *really* dont like the model...

There are three skeleton troops: Skeletal Warrior ~ your typical grunt soldier Skeletal Archer ~ ranged attack (duh) Skeletal Breaker ~ hard hitting grunt soldier Wraith Harvesters are cool. They have the Special Ability: Reach and they are non-corporeal so they are suited for Support and mobbing smaller Troops. The weakness of the Necropolis Troops is their Defense Value. They're easy to hit and kill. Maximize your numbers and mob the enemy. Zombies I have not seen. They might be in the Faction Book.
Hexxenhammer
and malek considered a useful character because i *really* dont like the model... He's a cheap Wizard as opposed to Naomi who is a freakin' expensive wizard. And you can have more than one of him on the field if you want. Naomi is unique, not like you could afford to field 2 anyway.
mateybob
are crypt bats troops?
All-Terrain Monkey
I have to second Lord Baasen's endorsement of the Banshee. Keep her protected and safe, and when you have your forces in a nice melee line sidestep her to a point where she can fire right down the line of enemy grunts or through a grunt to get to a pesky caster. With that blowthrough attack you will have an easy time making back the 50 points you pay for her, and it's a no-brainer to grab multiples when available. Moderator Froggy the Great Posted November 19, 2004 Moderator Share Posted November 19, 2004 I've seen the Banshee take out 2/3 of an Elf force in one shot. Granted, she dies right afterwards, but she's more than paid for herself. ...every time.
