Kelcore
of course ur basing this on if the banshees arnt near anyoneif your trying to take something that big down. then your definatly going to use some skel breakers or wraiths along with the banshees smart money's still on the Griffon. If the Griffon's in flight, then all the breakers and wraiths in the world won't matter. The only model that could touch him in this particular instance would be the Banshee, and only by virtue of her ranged attack (she's not a flyer). And if she does use her Blowthrough ona Griffon in flight, she's gotta get through a pretty high DV to do so. If she scoress a hit, no real big deal, he's got lots of Damage Tracks. The Griffon has a better movement, ignore's terrain when in flight, and can be on top of a Banshee in a heartbeat. At that point it can land and lay waste to her fairly easily (low DV on her part, lotsa MA's and really good AV on the Griffons). Also, if you're saying that you'd use those troops to protect your Banshee(s), then that's just under-utilizing your Banshee. why? because that's alot of line of sight blockage due to a bunch of troops in her way (again, just because the model itself towers over standard troops, dosen't mean that she can just fire over her allies, she's still earth-bound, no matter what the excellenbt sculpt suggests). But, if that's the way you want to play it, by all means, be my guest. I'm just saying, because I've faced Necropolis sooooooooooooooooooooooooo many times, I've got a pretty good insight on how to bring 'em down. Especially those pesky Banshees. Caden
I thought i read that flyers had to land on the ground before attacking a non flying model.and i quote from the book "While in flight, the model cannot attack or be attacked by ground models except via spells or ranged combat actions" so for it to attack my non flying banshee it would have to land where my breakers and wraiths can attack it
Lord Baasen
it would have to land where my breakers and wraiths can attack it Play a few games and see how your theory works. You'll be surprised. 'Look at the Birdy, Look at the Birdy' has never been so appropriate.
Caden
its should work in theory i mean it has 5 health if it is attacked my my banshees then being swarmed by breakers and wraiths (and wraiths of course have reach SOMEONE has do do some damage. after the first two points of damage the griffon should not be much of a problem only having 10 DV at that point. and i dont know about u but i always have my troops near my 9 archers + naomi so while in flight it has to worry about being in L.O.S of my archers and banshees, while on ground it has worry about being swarmed by breakers and wraiths
Lord Baasen
Oh, so you have played this scenario out?
Caden
somewhat. the most i could say for other enemy troops is that my archers would have to shoot them off as much as they can while Judas trys finish them off while the banshees, breakers, and wraiths try to kill the griffon. but yes i have played this out to the extent of someone who has played only a few games could
Lord Baasen
you're working with this troop? My small formation involves a main attack force of Judas, 9 wraith harvesters, Nivar, and Syphilla. following a few inches behind is Azarphan, 10 skelatal archers and Naomi *Cookie Bone to the first person that can tell me what's wrong with this formation! Caden
iv changed it a little. mostly after i read the rules a little. like i know now that the elite and leader models are included in the regular number (4-11/1) i didnt know that the 11 includes the 1 and the leader. so iv done a few changes

Caden
basically the same only making it so that its a legal formation yeah this is the best i could come up with.(my friend that i play with isnt exactly a tactician so its hard to reform it to something else when so far it works)

Lord Baasen
so what about a cookie? Magic Caster goes with the more expensive troop to defend against of Area of Effect spells e.g. Access to Dispel. But you were close.

Lord Baasen
I have found that while attending a funeral, using your second action to loot is generally considered uncouth. We need that on a T-Shirt!
