I still Dont really get that, Its +1 Mov, Not and extra Non Combat Action, right? hmmmmmm

Well, I went to the hobby shop, picked up 3 more Vale Warriors and another Sgt. (Although I won't be using that list which includes a Sgt. Duet tomorrow, but sometime in the near future.). If only they had a Centaur there, but Ill just order one online soon. Im thinking of replacing the Centaur with either a Lysette in the speed bump troop, or some Long Thorns, also in the latter.

Thanks for helping me you two, I will try to redeem myself by victory in battle tomorrow.

During an activation each model in a troop can make:

1 Combat action

and

1 Non-combat action

You can opt to turn your Combat action into a Non-Combat action and effectively take 2 Non-Combat actions instead.

A Model with a Mov 8 can therefore make 2 Move actions and travel up to 16 inches in a single activation, the model would not be able to cast spells, shoot or attack however, having used up all of it's actions for the activation.

OH yeah, sorry about that. I had completley forgotten. You can only do one combat action per turn, or sacrifice your combat action for another non combat action. Thanks guys, I had a little brain fart there. Thanks for helping me out. Well in about 3 hours, Me and my fighting company leave for the battle field. Hopefully I will come victorius for my first time!

Wish me luck, ::P:

Well it started out pretty well, My archers we hidden in some woods, with some warriors nearby for protection. In the next 2 rounds or so, he had burrowed his spawn and was heading straight for my archer troop. I double moved them away and had the warriors readym for him. he was killed in one turn. A few of my arhcers were unluckily picked off, but my centaur wasnt doing to bad until he was b2b'ed with an Isiri Warrior and Later, The witch queen herself. We had to end the game, it was getting late. he ended up winning by around 20 points or so, but if we had time I probably wouldve come out on top.

But win or lose, Warlord is always a great way to spend a Saturday evening, and that is the best battle I have ever played! We both enjoyed it tons, Humansuish is a great opponent, and we got some pics of my minis (finally) so I should have them posted soon.

Thanks for all the help and encouragement!

Okay, So for next Saturdays game, me and Humansquish will be playing 1000 point armies, and he forewarned me that he would be fielding his home-sculpted Rauthuros (:blink::wacko: eeeek!!!...He did a very impressive job on it too). I need some advice, i.e.; Anti-Rauthuros Tactics. Any advice is welcome. I was thinking about Moss Beard, but im not sure if he is a good counter strategy.

Concentrate your archery fire on his grunts, so you deplete his support troops. When Rauthuros charges, you may loose whatever his target is, but make sure to quickly mob him. Support bonuses make even DV14 feasible. If you feel lucky, you can try to hit him with an Ice Shard or Hold if you have a high CP caster (think 7+).

Darkspawn Eh?

LK has it with hitting his grunts and remember that demon is big so sling arrows while he is in combat as you can always see him.

I always go for numbers let me dig out one of my 1000pointers

Captain: 103

6 warriors 114

Deathseeker 33

Lyssete 48: Firestorm 75, Dispel 10, greater magic empowerment 45, divine favor 10, ice shards 10, fear 5 (203)

Centaur 58

Sergeant 36

3 warriors 57

Sergeant 36

6 archers 264

Sergeant 36

3 warriors 57

lots of activations let me control the flow of the game I used this list with devastating effects in a tourney a few months back. I break the archer into a two and four member team four in the center two on a flank with the centaur on the opposite flank from the 2 Capatin takes center melee sarges each take a flank.

Ranger its a good thing. shoot shoot shoot all your archers need a 10 to hit him so shoot him with meridh and hope for it, while the archers pick on his grunts although if you get the chance 13 shots is going to do something to one mini. If you kill his big baddy it can be a severe morale blow.

good luck

on a side note where can we get pice of HUMANSQUISH's demon

I am making a 1500 pt army, and without going into too much detail, I need some opinions. I need to know whether you would take Mossbeard at 258 or Arnise and 6 deathseekers for 258. I can see it each way, but think the deathseekers would be better for the purpose of defending my archers.

Thanks,

Prophet

I wouldn't use either in that case. Deathseekers are not defensive--they have low DV, and high M, so are best suited sprinting across the field to get the first strike (after which they quite often die). Mossbeard, on the other hand, is good at defending himself, but a single model can't defend a troop of archers. A few warriors, maybe meridh leading the troop makes a good guard, though.

Vil is right but I would use Deathseekers because as a group they will be better at guarding the archers.

Either option's 'defensive' would consist of moving to engage the enemy, so as to keep them from the archers. I'd use either a sarg with warriors (tactical and relatively cheap), or Mossbeard (because he's cool). Arnise and company would just die to enemy archers before they arrive, unless you get real lucky with cover.

Thanks, I realize that the deathseekers main purpose isnt to protect but was just trying to get a few more minis on the table so I can get a few more volleys off before having to break off single shooting.

I dont play elves but I can honestly tell you that deathseekers make a rather nice deterent unless your opponent has bane. Even then they can still do some damage.
