Tsetsen Muur
Thanks for the tips. I only have one proxy for the treant, though. I don't need a Warlord -- one point more and I would. Okay, I'll have to revisit the list. Yes - the tree is the strength contrary to the archers strength. To kill the ranged, you must engage the monster. To kill the monster, the ranged will kill you. I build my armies around havning to beat both Crusaders and Necropolis. Those are the two armies I've seen before, and they seem to be polar opposites. Outkast Samurai
Isn't bless on mossbeard useless for your plan to use it on the archers since it only lasts till the end of the action phase and mossy is a solo?
spiritual_exorcist
Agreed, Mossbeard + Bless = a wasteful combination, as Bless only lasts until the end of a given activation, so if Mossy casts it, it will end when mossys activation finishes, so non-one will benefit. Oh, bother. Seems that way. I thought it was "those effected's action phase". Need to do a rewrite anyway... Thanks for the tip, though.
Qwyksilver
Mossbeard's good for loading up Bandages, either for himself, or models like Caerwynn or Ardynn.
Tsetsen Muur
Revision List Selynn Nirondel (LME) (1 bandage, 5 bless) 6 Archers Arnise (GMA, MMW, DF) 3 Death Seekers 1 Long Thorn 2 Breakers 2 Warriors Meridh 5 Warriors 1 Long thorn Meridh 5 Warriors 1 Long thorn Centaur (ip) Mossbeard (ISx2, Bandage x2) Similar plan, except Nirondel is now providing the blesses. I realize that it would be more efficient to have another Meridth running with the elite force, and that replacing the long thorns with warriors would be better for speed-bumpatude. The army selection is deliberately a touch fluffy. I want some mixture in almost every troop just to break up the models. I'll see if I can manage a test match sometime soon. Darthiir
Just a thought, take two of the lone longthorns that are in the two meridh troops and put them in selwyn's troop. This was if she does go off and engage in h2h she can make use of her trencher SA.
lordoftheleaves
My Elven Brothers and Sisters, I have a game on saturday (god, it has been a while since i played). We shall be playing a 750 point match. Here is the host i will be fielding: TROOP A Danithal (Bolt, Ice Shard) Lysette (Magic Armr., Bolt, Ice Shard x2) 2 Vale archers 2 Vale Warriors 1 Vale Longthorn TROOP B Vale Sgt. 3 Vale Archers 3 Vale Warriors TOTAL=750 Any help is appreciated, and maybe some strategies on how to use this force to even greater extent than my feeble mind can devise. I think im playing Darkspawn. LOTL
Outkast Samurai
Well for starters archers are adepts so you can have them in only 1 troop. In a 750 point game I think you'll find that Danithal is quite the point sucker for that small of a game. I really like using Arnise since she is a fairly cheap sgt but has an elite slot. Niriodel has got to be my elite model of choice as well with a 30" range plus decking him out with bandages to heal everyone back up and bless to make those archers even more effective. If you want to go for both a mage and a cleric (perhaps a bit much at the low points) I would go with Selwyn and Arnise as my commanders for the two elite slots. between the two of them they are still only 163 points, 98 points less than Danithal alone. A few things that I hope help. Good luck

I think im playing Darkspawn. LOTL Second printing rules make the archers "adept", so they must be all together. Trying to keep to the general force type of the army, I believe that bringing Danithal and Lysette is too character heavy for 750 points. In other words, you are unbalanced away from "boys" and too far into "toys". I'd consider demoting Danithal to either Selwyn or Meridh (even if it is by proxy), and adding bunchs for warriors and / or archers. Good luck, and defeat our wayward cousins! lordoftheleaves
Ok Kinsfolk, I have revised my list again, and i have a strange feeling that i will have to yet again ( that is why i am not at my table painting any last minute figs yet!). Please tell me what you can to help me in a battle against the darkspawn. TROOP A Meridh Niriodel (Bandage x3, Bless x2) 5 Vale Archers TROOP B Arnise (Greater Magic Armour +2 DV) Lysette (Bolt, Ice Shards x3, Firestorm) 6 Vale Warriors Any Help Greatly Appreciated! Thanks again for the help I recieved on my last list LOTL
Outkast Samurai
Meridh doesn't have an elite slot so that nixs that one. The closest I came to what you're trying to do is: Troop 1 Selwyn Niriodel (Bandagex3 Blessx1) 5 Vale Archers Troop 2 Arnise (Improved Protection) Lysette (Boltx1 Ice Shardx2 Fireballx1) 5 Vale Warriors 747 points In all honesty I would drop Lysette to add Divine favor to Selywn and add some warriors to her troop to protect those archers, but that's just me. This list may work perfect for you as it is. I've never been all that great on using mages and have focused more on clerics. You may also just want to downgrade the fireball to another Ice Shard and use those points to get some cheap models for troop 1. Good luck. The model effectively ignores the first point of damage it takes and it only cost 10 pts.
