Paints?

Recommended Posts

I think it depends on the type of paint, container, and how it is stored. I have some paints that came in dropper bottles (not Vallejo) that are 10+ years old and still just fine. Back in the old days when I was using Testors Enamels in the little glass bottle they didn't last too long. One time I put my paints away for a year and all the Testors dried out. The acrylics in the dropper bottles were just fine. My guess is that the less the paint is exposed to air, the longer the paint stays good.

I have some acrylics here that I've had for nigh on ten years and while none have dried out, except the much newer citadel screw-tops, some are getting grainy, clotty and all-round stupid. I'm pretty sure they might be redeemed by super agitation or straining or something, but I really don't have the will to go that far.
