World of Warcraft Free Trial

I keep hearing rumors of a World of Warcraft free trial. I missed out on the open beta because I was busy flying x-wings and tie fighters however when I land my x-wings and tie fighters I'm still stuck playing a so so game that has little to do with it's advertised setting. Can anyone point me to a place that might give me some information on a WoW free trial if it exist.

Also now that it's out can I get some objective opinions on it. I'm particularly interested in the opinions of those who have played Star Wars Galaxies which I feel is a good MMO that has little to do with Star Wars unfortunatly. Were it just another MMO I would say it's a great game but because I'm a big Star Wars fan I really don't enjoy the fact that it doesn't deliver on the Star Wars part of it.

They just got done with the free stress test last week. No more free trials. My friends say its well worth the money, but I don't have net access at home. After getting sucked int UO for 2 years, I stay away from MMORPGS. At least after selling my UO account I got $800 dollars.

Its a great game by all accounts I have heard.

Yep, find a friend who bought the Collector's Edition and borrow the Friend's Free Trial CD's and Key.

A word of warning however, if you have any trouble handling addiction of any kind you may want to stear clear of this one. I have been playing on a friend's Collector's Ed Free Trial....and yeah....I told myself it would end after the free trial cause I didn't want the monthly expense and I didn't have the time to play it enough to make the monthly cost worth it. Let's just say everything I told myself about not getting sucked into this game went out the window the first night I installed it and made my first character......... I'm now a WoW junkie..........

The game is great fun. There are a gazilion quests to do, lots of monsters to slay, two different factions (alliance and horde), about 8-10 different classes, 8 different races, Trade Skills (Primary & Secondary), the emotes are hilarious (the Orcs have the best dance moves EVER), and the list goes on.

I've been pretty much sticking to the Horde, and playing an Undead Warlock. The undead are a lot of fun, and there's a lot of subtle humor throughout the game.

That's about all I can come up with for now, I'm itching to finish a couple of quests and very soon I'll be able to summon a Succubus to do my bidding....I think I'll try to name her Sophie!

One of the many things I like about WoW is that you dont have to play ALL the time. Tthey have a nifty rest bonus thing, if you log out in a town or inn or even just putz around in town, you accumulate a rest bonus, and when you log back in or go off to kill stuff you get more XP on kills (not quests). Its a nice feature, I really like it.

My friends have been playing this....they used to play SWG, and they like this a lot better.

My friend let me create a character on his account, so I can play a bit(aren't friends cool?). So if you see a Night Elf Hunter named Amra, it's me.

My computer doesn't have enough mojo to run the game, but I'm looking into upgrading it, hopefully for next to nothing(again, friends rock!!). If so, I can play anytime.

My only gripe about the game is there are no barbarians. But, being a fan of the Poison Elves comic, the Night Elf was a good pick.

No, there is no Barbarian: But here's what you do:

Build a Warrior, work him up to level ten. Then, start putting your talents into the 'Fury' end of things, as well as the 'Arms' end of the talent tree.

At level 20, learn 'dual wield', and get two of your prefered weapons of choice. You can learn Swords in Stormwind, and Axes in Ironforge.

From there, yalp a lot, and you're a barbarian.
