Naithan Kain
I was reading a thread on the terrian boards that Kengar posted about lava and twjolson posted a link to lave tutorial. Lava bases tutorial I had to try it. The only thing I could find to paint on was a piece of styrofoam. I broke a piece off to get a rough edge. After about five minutes of painting I had this. twjolson
I've never tried it, but I told you that was an awesome technique!! I am impressed with the small amount of time you put in. I'll have to putz with this technique sometime soon.
Death Angel
Wow, I had to look at this for quite a while before my brain would register that it was painted foam. All I saw was lava, that is awesome, I'm so off to read that tutorial!!!!
Death Angel
OK read it, how simple is that?! Yet a bloody fantastic result, I am so giving this a go!!!!!!!!!!!
Naithan Kain
Very simple. Only four different colors and only one of them I had to mix. I skipped the primer and went straight to the yellow.

Galante
Oh God, I want a Balrog! I have one and now I may actually paint it. I've always disliked the way GW painted theirs: That flame on the back is just wrong!
mrbuddylee
I'm just amazed by that, looks exactly like lava should look. Nicely done. Of course, never having seen real lava, I don't really know what it should look like, but if it were up to me, lava would look like that.
