I'm betting there are no longer any 15mm manufacturers with any sort of large scale distributor presence. I'm going to assume you're talking about fantasy, though be aware there is a very large historical market for 15mm as well.

My favorite is Alternative Armies. Their figures are very detailed and have a pretty wide variety.

Reaper's old 15mm line is currently being carried by Strange Cargo Games.

A company called Black Raven Foundry is still trading, AFAIK.

Finally, Hobby Products produces the Demonworld range.

Beyond that, a lot of historicals manufacturers do fantasy, such as Irregular, Essex (only source of halflings AFAIK), Chariot, and Peter Pig, to name a few. It really pays to shop around for best value for money, as well as obtain some samples. Also, don't forget many historical ranges make for very good Human armies...

Mongoose's Mighty Armies are Heroic 10mm scale, so they are pretty darn close to 15mm. Dont' know why they bothered to do that, they are to big to match up well with other 10mm lines and just a little small for the current batch of 15mm.

The world is pretty light as far as fantasy 15mm. Someone pointed out the various manufacturers already. The old Reaper 15s were great, I still have a bunch of those. Black Raven are decent. Chariot's are a little on the small side so they would probably fit in very nicely with the Mighty Armies 10mm stuff. Alternative Armies are nice as well but can be a little hard to get a hold of in the states. I'm sure there is a web source for them as well. They lost another US distributor last year. There are some fine 15mm sculpts in the old Ral Partha and Grenadier lines, if you can find them.

Any other period for 15mm and you are golden.

I'd say Warmaster is 10mm in the same way that Reaper is 25mm.

For historicals, I really like Corvus Belli. They do only a few ranges so far, but what they have looks excellent. Then there's Xyston, which makes some great figures. But when in doubt, check out Old Glory 15's, which is adequately sculpted, but nice and cheap, and a large and expanding range. Check out the parent company Old Glory for 15mm WWII.

Warmaster are definately 10mm. Mighty Armies are closer to 18mm (heroic 15mm) - the sculpting isn't great - but they are nice and very cheap :)

I have to second Xyston. Having a greek phalanx all painted up and displayed is pretty sweet. I think if you want to do 15s just for display, going with ancients or line infantry like from the english civil war (lots of pikemen and muskets) is a good way to go.

Flames of War figures are 15mm WWII and are brilliant if you want to do that.

If you do a web search for 15mm miniatures, you'll find lots of results. There are also sci-fi options available.

The thing to remember when painting 15's - especially those in rank and file - is you want to go lighter on the detail for the standard infantryman than you would with a 25 or 28mm Too much detail and the unit looks "Noisy". Spend a little extra time on commanders, adding standards (if applicable) really makes the units look great, and a consistant basing -especially if stands are going to be ranked up.
