Kheprera
There are a ton in this forum, actually. Depends on what kind of tips you're looking for.
Qwyksilver
#1 - Don't put your thumb in front of the lens. It ruins the picture
Spike
Tripods are our friends. The less the camera moves, the better the pic. If you can get one with a remote button to work the shutter, even better. At 5 cm, even punching the button can create fuzzy pics.
Moderator Froggy the Great Posted January 9, 2005 Moderator Share Posted January 9, 2005 If, after the third picture of your right ear, you take the film out and put it in the right way instead of backwards, you still have much to learn. dargrin
This is not always possible but try to use as much natural light as possible. If you can set up the pic outside and take it there. Unless you are looking for a diarama, prop up a piece of paper behind the figure so the colors will stand out.
Spike
The more evenly-lit the model is, the less distracting shadows there will be. Try lighting your models from forward-left, forward-right and from above-slightly-to-the-rear. This ought to eliminate shadows almost completely. Diffusing the light is good too. This can be done cheaply with a swatch of waxed paper or thin tracing paper. Less glare is better, especially if you use metallics.
