Bald Beholder

Bald! No eyestalks yet! Needs hairclub for beholders. Anyway, it's a crappy pic, but it's just a pic to let to customer know how it's comming along. I decided to try doing this one with a closed mouth, and sculpted teeth that turned out pretty good if I say so myself. Also lips. Im not sure which style I like better, the lips, or the more skull-like look. Also, Im useing some plumber's putty for the tendrils and eyestalks rather than sculpey. The last one had some major breaks ont he eyestalks from shipping, but this plumber's putty is much much stronger. Only drawback to it, aside from the smell, is that it hardens realy fast and quickly becomes unworkable. Though, there isnt much work on the eyestalks so it should work fine. Well, hopefuly soon I'll be able to produce my own molds so I'll be sculpting one casting soon, then I'll be able to offer these in pewter.

MOD

I HAVE TO ASK WHY YOU CAPATALIZE MODERATOR. IT SEEMS STRANGE.

Very nice sculpt, and quite large and intimidating. It's kind of creepy that it almost has the shape of a giant skull, but only has one sunken in eye. Very eerie!

Great job!

I would, but there's just two problems with Greenstuff. Firstly, I cant find it localy. And secondly, it costs too much to order it online. Honestly, $14+ for a few ounces? If that's the base cost it's a wonder any of these miniature companies can afford to stay in buisness. Untill someone starts to offer it at an uninflated price, I cant afford to use it exclusively like I'd like to.

Well, I just finished adding the details, and it's waiting to be primed and painted tomorrow. Next projects I have lined up is to complete my big 'Soul Worm' and sculpt another beholder in order to make a mold so I can start produceing these in pewter. Only thing is I need to find some cheaper pewter to use, since the blocks I ordered are too small for what I want to cast. Either I'd have to charge more, or use something cheaper. So, if anyone knows where I can get a good amount of casting pewter for around $10 a block, please let me know. But till then, tell me what you all think of the beholder so far.
