Pigmented
Hi, I'm new to CAV and decided on the merc group the Yellow Jackets. I know the CAVs are yellow and black but what about the rest of the forces?
Spartan6
Welcome to CAV and the boards. There's not a whole lot of "official stuff" about the Yellowjackets. I would think that they paint all their stuff yellow and black with the exception possibly of their infantry uniforms. Infantry are a lot more interested in being able to hide when they want than being seen. So it's really up to you how you want to paint them. Mad Pat
About the best source for a paint job for the Yellow Jackets is the Rhino on the cover of JOR1. Other then that it comes down to How do you think the yellow jackets you field should paint thier CAVS? Mad Pat
Spartan6
And there you have the official answer
Pigmented
JoR1 is what got my attention to the game, I liked the colors on the Rhino. I fugured the infantry wouldn't go around in yellow I'll probably paint them black so they still have uniform colors with the CAVs.
Spartan6
Sounds like a plan. Looking forward to seeing some pics of them when they're done.
Pigmented
I ordered some decals from Griffon Games, after I got them on I'll post some pics
Erion
Just FYI, with the new stealth rules in CAV2, your on-table paint job doesn't really matter as all models are sort of explained as having active camo. Thus, the Blaze Orange on my Adonese isn't really an issue.
Pigmented
gotta love the camo technology
Leech
Having actually fought the real Yellow Jackets, both with and against, and I can tell you that Yellow Jacket CAV's and gunships are painted alike. The ones I faced hadn't been detailed but Jimbo had done the yellow basecoat and the stripe. It's certainly cool to see an army of Starhawks and Challengers, with the odd Rhino, in Yellow Jackets colours squaring off against a similarly built company on Bad Blood colours. SnowTiger
one of the paint jobs that i realy liked was "the killer bees"i'm sure you can get a pic off the guy who did them....prob is i'm not sure who did that unit..just ask around....BTW welcome to cav... snowstorm....make warfare look like poetry in motion
Leech
If memory serves, the killer bees was Gen308 or Quester.
Demon
Hey bud.....you can always create your own merc unit and paint scheme. It's actually pretty fun that way
Chrome
The Killer Bees were Quester's unit. You can see pictures of them in his painting article http://www.mil-net.net/articles/painting_for_dummies.zip
Spartan6
You can pretty much paint up your CAV's any way you want and no one's going to say " Well the 1st RADD's colors are not pink and green"! CAV's kind of cool that way. If painting skill or amount of equipment actually painted was a determining factor in who got to play there's only about three folks around here who would be playing the game at all. And I'm not one of them. So the bottom line is just paint them however suits your taste and have fun with it.
