Sergeant_Crunch
I will be moving from South Korea to San Angelo, Texas next month and was wondering if there is anyone in the immediate area who plays CAV. I just received my first round of miniatures (even managed to paint a few amazingly enough with my schedule) and am still very much a newcomer to the game. I have not played more than a couple one-on-one CAV games using the rules pdf from the web. (didn't want to buy the rulebook just to have to buy another one later when CAV2 is released) thanks
Stubbdog
Unfortunately, I cannot say about San Angelo. But, I can say that there are several of us up in the DFW area. As well as, Reaper itself is just north of the DFW area (in Denton). I know its a bit of a hike, but I know that they dedicate one Saturday a month to CAV at Reaper's Asylum. jhilahd
So you're moving to Goodfellow? I can't say for sure, you'll want to do a search, but there is a comic shop (and maybe a hobby store now)who might have games or at least a board to recruit from. San Angelo isn't what it used to be when I lived in the area. And that's been eons ago. I'll ask some people who still live there and see if I can get you some info on gaming. Sergeant_Crunch
Yeah, it's been about 10 years since I was last at Goodfellow/San Angelo, and I didn't have my car with me then. So I really don't remember much about the area. On the other hand, I'll be happy to have more than five English-speaking channels on cable. I do know that there is a FLGS there, but the folks I've talked to who have come from there lately don't know if anyone plays CAV (they all play Warhammer and 40k almost exclusively). jhilahd
Yeah, I grew up outside of San Angelo (about 20 miles north), and we did all our gaming and like stuff in town. Been about 15 years since I left, so you've actually have a better lead than I. Having said that. Pull a couple of flyers and run a demo game or two. Get some people interested. Show them how they don't have to spend a fortune to play, and have a bazillion 6 siders to play. Heck, you could even get them interested in Warlord, but that's just crazy talk. I've written a couple of friends who live there and see if they are still gaming. So I'll you know. Jhilahd
Sergeant_Crunch
Well imagine that...do a quick search on mapquest to figure out how I'm gonna get to San Angelo and as luck would have it, I gotta go right through Denton. Now, how to justify this to the wife... "But honey, the directions clearly state that we have to stop at 'Reaper Miniatures' in order to get where we need to go"...
