Half an hour passed as the group marched to a clearing junction in the sewer. A small dam-like barricade was built to keep the sewage flow from filling the junction.

The junction itself was quite busy, a great fire pit was built in the middle of it, where an old sewage drain was sealed, and kept the place illuminated and warm. Electric lamps were placed here and there, powered by a military-grade power generator. It was large enough that nearly six dozen insurgents used it as a base, and four dozen war refugees used it as shelter from the Soviets. One section of the insurgent base was dominated by large stacks of crates, probably weapons "borrowed" from the Red Army.

As the prisoners were taken to the "prison" section of the base, all of you are escorted to a small post next to the central fire pit.

It was probably the HQ, as a number of important-looking rebels were there. A map-filled table was placed perpendicular to a billboard, which had nearly a dozen sheets of paper pinned to it (most of them data, coded transmissions, or reports). A radioman sat at a desk, listening to his military radio, and carefully noting the busy chatter of coded messages. At the map table, a man was hunched over it, observing the maps carefully, his face deep in thoughts.

As you came into his view, he looked up, and nodded. He was a bearded man, whose looks hinted that he was probably an ex-military. While not really that tall, he was bulky and seemed quite strong. A Colt. 45 was holstered at his waist...

"Well, I see the reports are true." he said to all of you.

"My name is Williams, Lt. Williams, Marines. I'm leader of the Brooklyn insurgent cell here. I think you've met Millers..." he said, noddings to the insurgent leader that rescued you.

"Welcome to the Brooklyn base, "home base", as we'd like to call it. I'm sure you guys went through one hell of a time, right?" he asked with a grin.

He whispered to one of the men around him, and the lower-ranking rebel rushed off to grab blankets and warm food and drinks for everyone.

"Thanks Jake." Gel replies with a smile as he accepts the offered pistol. He quickly removes the loaded clip and checks the weapon over. His motions appear well practiced, and once he's happy with the weapon he reloads it and sticks it in the waistband of his trousers.

Nicholas stands at the edge of the group quietly smoking a cigarrette; cobalt blue eyes taking it all in as they scan from person to person.

Eyes flick below their dark brows as a Royal Marine Commando is mentioned. Skeptically studying the "commando" as he's introduced Nicholas subtly slips nearer the edge of the group to better hear what's being said.
