FuzzyIzmit
I am thinking of picking up one soon, and I was wondering if anyone out there has either used this camera or had any experience with it and what they thought about it. I like Olympus cameras, and from what I found online, it can be in my price range...can anyone help a sista' out?
Kheprera
Check out Digital Photography Review as they specialize in such things. They will most likely have a full-on review of the camera, as well as forums where you can read up on others who have a particular camera and how well they like it. eastman
Check to see if your local Best Buy (or whatever electronics place is around) carries it and try one in the store before you decide. I have always found it important to get the feel of a camera to know if I was going to want to own one (I've tried some very expensive cameras over the years and just didn't like the way they felt or the location of certain controls). (my background - 35mm SLR user for ~20 years, Digi-SLR user for a little under 1)
Heisler
That's a pretty good little camera. However, it would not be a good candidate if you plan to take pictures of miniatures with. The zoom on that is only x3, optical zoom, the Olympus I use has a x10 optical zoom. For miniatures a macro setting and a high optical zoom are the way to go. The Olympus C-765, C-770, and the C-740 all have x10 optical zooms. Olympus makes good glass too, maybe not as good as Nikon or Canon but mine has served faithfully for four or five years now.
